James Franklin is supposedly....

2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. That's 5 years not 6. And really, does it matter if it's 5 or 6? You left yourself an out by saying "better part of a decade". Hell, most people with half a brain would consider that 7-8 years at the least not 5. My God, you really are that obtuse.

So 2008 was better than 2009? Then why was Fulmer fired?

Then compare all 3 schools. You and Boca were saying his wins weren't that great and he had 8 wins against winning teams at CMU and 6 against winning teams at Cincy. He beat better teams than Frank did. Refute that all you want.

This is the point that I was making. Jones should have been expected to have more wins over better teams than Franklin, as he took over infinitely better situations at CMU and Cincinnati.

In the two years prior to Jones taking over, CMU went 6-5 and 9-4. In the two years prior to Jones taking over, Cincinnati went 11-3 and 12-1, playing in BCS bowls both years.

In the two years prior to Franklin taking over, Vanderbilt went 2-10 and 2-10.

Yeah Delaware St. & Fordham are real impressive!

The bottom line is both guys are pretty good coaches with pretty similar successes. Butch is 2-2 in bowl games while Franklin is 2-1 with his loss to Jones in his 1st year as a HC. Again, pretty similar.

No, you were trying to make it sound like UT hasn't had a good season in almost 10 years instead in reality it has been 6 years. Just admit that you were being a dick about it and move on.

Bama, I think you are trying to backtrack for a poor choice of words.
See law of Equivalence.
While 6+4=10 , 6+4 is an equation, and 10 is a real number.
While 6yrs = a better part of a Decade, it is not the same as the Decade - 4yrs.
Equations are open to external manipulation. Real numbers are static.
The words you used are not vaild in the context you used them in.
If you said UT has sucked out loud for the better part of a decade you would be correct.
To say an outlier year falling in the middle of a decade is the best thing in the better part of the decade is invald context.
Troll harder, your troll badge could get revoked otherwise.

Giving Johnson credit for Vandy's success is like giving Chizik credit for Auburn's success.

Wait just a minute!!! Chiz was Coach of the Year!

He coached some dude out of a Laptop slump, and recruited some guy away from Miss St, and found a FL QB that had gone to JUCO, and wasn't found guilty of a recruiting violation since it was just a donation to a church.........

no wait..........

You went from pissing and moaning over whether or not six years constituted the better part of a decade to whether or not I meant 5 or 6 years. If I was being a dick, then I was treating you better than you really deserved.

I didn't realize hairs could be split this thin. But here we are...

Wouldnt know. But if you were educated in Tennessee I'm sure you're the smartest guy in the trailer park.

Second mobile home joke, huh?

Well, you know how to keep the window lickers amused, I'll give you that.

I'm sure OrangeBalls will be guffawing as soon as he sees your post. He's currently looking for a pair of sandals so he can count above 5.

You do realize Alabama is 49th out of 50, only above Mississippi. I wouldn't be throwing stones

Well, you missed the obvious fact that I was referring to my own education. So which of those two states did your learnin'?

No, I didn't piss and moan about anything. I was trying to educate you on what a normal person would call a better part of a decade. Everyone here knows that UT has pretty much sucked since 2008. Kiffin had one 7-6 year in between. It has been 6 years since then. You then tried to throw out the "better part of a decade" schtick and fudge the numbers to be near a decade just to be a prick.

And don't worry, I could give two sh*ts how you "treat" anyone on here. You act like a dick to pretty much everyone on here. That's no headline. But I'm sure you'd be here all the time if Shula or Dubose were still the coach.

Says who? They went 7-6 the year before that. Johnson obviously left Frank with some talent. Johnson coasted after his bowl year, coached one more year and called it quits. Then they let an OL coach take over for one year. And on what planet has CMU or Cincy been a juggernaut?

Funny how you conveniently leave out teams he beat like Mich St, Louisville x 2, NC State and Virginia Tech who were all pretty good teams.

Michigan State finished with a losing record that year. They wouldn't count anyway. VT was 7-6, I think, and the 2 Lousiville teams finished 7-6. WOW!!!!!

Convenient memory to try and strengthen his argument.

Check the facts. My argument doesn't need any strengthening. The 2 Louisville teams were 7-6 as was Va Tech. Michigan State finished with a losing record that year. Nice try!

Anytime CMU beats a team like Mich St it's a big deal. Ask anyone up there. The rosters are nowhere comparable. Anyone that knows anything about football knows that. You tried to discount his wins by listing two wins against lower rated teams. I gave you teams that were as good or better than the teams Frank had beaten with similar or less talent. He had 8 wins against teams with winning records at CMU and 6 wins against teams with winning records at Cincy.

8 > 4
6 > 4

It appears you have been smoking too much meth that you have been cooking in that green egg.
