Yeah . . . That's part of the reason I bristle a little when I hear fans talking about the "VFL" stuff and act as if everyone must bow down to the logo. It's hard for people to understand that their game day experience doesn't necessarily equate to a player's experience in the program for a million different reasons.I’ve always thought it absurd that we demand the same loyalty from former players to UT that we have as fans
Having family members and friends who both coached and played at extremely high levels (including for the Vols).... to be perfectly honest for most...its a job and nothing really personal. Doesn't mean they didn't love and appreciate the time at wherever. And we can times that by 1000 with the current atmosphere we find ourselves in today.Yeah . . . Nah. It’s easier to **** on the kid from a keyboard apparently. Some people are just miserable and want everyone else to be as miserable as they are.Jesus dude. Another poster just said he’s hav a really hard time. Maybe he doesn’t have a job because he has cancer. Or is taking care of a sick loved one. Or has severe depression from football related head trauma. How about just offering a prayer for the man and going about your day?
People are different in person. The internet has giving people an opportunity to act tough. There's been times in my own life that things got rough and I sold some things that I never thought I'd sell, and did stuff I never thought I'd do...as a man, you do what you gotta do to get the family fed and keep the wheels rolling. Life has a way of humbling you, especially if you begin to judge others without knowing their circumstances. I've been blessed to have good times, and to persevere through bad times. The bad times taught me to never take the good times for granted and gave me humility. There doesn't seem to be much of that left in the world today unfortunately.
I see both sides. However I think we’re to hard on the people with the “life is hard” take. It’s the truth. Although I don’t know his situation I know mine. I come from a family where I watched my mother miss meals so I could eat as a kid. There have been health issues, family issues, etc. I now own my own business and gratefully can have anything I want within reason. Through hard work. No one bailed us out. Decisions have consequences daily. I wish him the best.Maybe we shouldn’t crap on former players unless we’re aware of the situation they’re in. Jmo.
Dollar tree. You sure know how to spoil em. Hope one of those prescriptions is to lower blood pressure. For the sake of your family and all. We need you around for Christmas.Actually last week got an end of year check from my insurance company that I didn’t expect for prescription rebates. It was only 100 bucks but my righteous soul cashed the check into 5s and 1s and told my child she could buy as much junk as she wanted at Dollar Tree with the caveat that she had to give money to the two homeless people who are always PANHANDLING on Volunteer Parkway in Bristol. In addition to being an a** hole you’re apparently borderline illiterate and don’t know the difference between two common words. Now go back to cooking the fries and **** off.

A guy came up to me one day at gas station with a sad story. I gave him $20 bucks. About 4-5 months later the same guy came up to me at a station across town with the same story. I told him to get a real good look at my face cause he never wants to approach me again. How much money did your righteous souls give the last homeless person you saw pandering? Bet you drove on by. You didnt don’t know their “situation”.

He didn’t sell his. His was stolen many years ago and the stolen one is the one that has ended up being sold on the Internet several times. He still has and wears the replacement for the stolen ring.Yeah .... I wouldn't be judgmental of these things, unless it's someone like Dr. Benson Scott, who sold his 1998 National Championship ring .... He's an Orthopedic Surgeon. That was kinda weird.
You’ve verbally abused people in this very thread… you told the other guy to get back to cooking fries and to **** off, did you not? Sad. Take a look in the mirror. Merry Christmas to you as well.Well you know, it really defeats the purpose of me sticking up for Payton, and instilling in my child a kindness and respect for homeless people, for me to verbally abuse strangers on the internet. So we’ll just agree to disagree and wish you a Merry Christmas.
