The guy makes just 500 grand a year at MSU. We paid Sal 800 grand a year. That is hard to even think about right now. Whoever the HC is, I hope DC talks go right to Chavis and Narduzzi.

looking at some of these comments, i can almost sympathize with what gruden's agent said about the vol fan base.

Jimbo has a great record at fsu, has a winning record against Florida (who may as well schedule us for homecoming), and can recruit. He botched a game against nc state, a conference team. How many games over fulmers career did he lose to unranked sec teams? We were very close to blowing the game against Troy and let Akron hang around. We shouldn't call the kettle black.

We've got a serious chance to get two coaches who are gonna be in a BCS bowl (Strong/Fisher) yet all I hear is "I don't want". Well I DO WANT, and would take him and support Jimbo to the FULLEST until he gives me reason not to. I mean seriously...compare his resume to anyone's out there who is a realistic candidate. I think dude would make a fine coach for Tennessee and be here for a long time. JMO

I agree 100%. People are saying he has a bad loss every year yet he has only been HC 3 yrs. I have also heard he only recruits well because he is at FSU.. Well yes I am sure being in florida doesnt hurt but their is a lot of competition in that state.. Miami , Florida, South Florida .. I am willing to bet Les Miles benefits from being in Louisiana . It could be said for a number of other schools as well.

Skeeter posted last night that golden, Davis, Gruden and Gundy are all out.

Mullin is headed to Colorado

Sonny dykes is going to nc state

Patterson said that he is staying in dallas


So by process of elimination, we are looking at either strong or Jimbo. I think either of those guys would be great!

So he lost to NC state big deal, if we are that upset about hiring a coach who wins 8-10 games every year then I feel sorry for us as a fan base we have not won 8 games in how long? People saying who they don't want this guy and don't want that guy look at the people were in on even if tressel came here it would be ok he would sit out the first 5 games next year. We play a hard first 5 games and can't go to a bowl well if Bray, hunter and Patterson leave we will go to a trashy bowl so it would not matter and give him 2 solid years to recruit then start going to better bowls. Tressel is a good coach if we got him then I would welcome him over the current UNC coach. I would rank them Fisher, Patterson and then Tressel an Strong as a tie. Just my opinion

Current team has been ranked as high as 4 this year and likely to a BCS Bowl? Heck yeah! Especially if he has some solid coordinators.

As far as NC State, clearly that was a fluke for UT and FSU...

I just fail to see how Fisher is a great hire. What exactly has he done at FSU especially when you consider they annually out recruit the entire ACC except for possibly Clemson? How the heck does FSU lose to NCST? And they have a brain fart like that every freakin' year. I'd take David Shaw (Stanford) or even James Franklin over Fisher.

Fisher seems like he's on the list because Hart's "familiar" with him. That's a crappy set of criteria for hiring a coach. I'm familiar with a lot of my ex-girlfriends, that doesn't mean they're the first place I turn to when I'm single again.

Agree. But I will say you forgot a few schools in regards to his competition in recruiting. It's every school in the country he competes against. The entire nation goes to UF to recruit. He has a lot of competition from UGA, Bama, Auburn, UT, etc.

Count me in on that as well....but what about Tuberville??? We KNOW he can win in the SEC and I mean BIG!!!! Certainly not a wow hire but at the end of the day we know what we get.....

Wow. Gameday crew said FSU has a tendency to have too many letdown games and lose to inferior opponents. Herbie said Jimbo Fisher is "still teaching" this team how to win big games.
