Jimbo Fisher

He good at recruiting. The last two years been in the top 5 in recruiting but in the 3 years at FSU record is 29-10 in the ACC.

List Coaches UT Should Get:
1. David Shaw, Stanford
-- Reminds me of Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy
2. Gary Patterson, TCU
-- Knows how to build a winning team
3. Pat Shurmur, Browns Or Rex Ryan, Jets
-- NFL guy with some college experience who probably going to be fired this year
4. Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State
-- 41 victories over the past four years but would need to get a strong DC
5. Art Briles, Baylor
-- Just be fun to watch

I know what you are thinking no Bob Stoops or Kevin Sumlin. I don't see Stoops leaving Oklahoma. And I don't want another college to go threw what we did with Lane the fruit loop kid when it comes to Kevin Sumlin. The sad thing is he could have been our coach three years ago.

Fisher is the best we can hope for.Hart will never hire strong because I think he is a typical Bama racist. That leaves Fisher and Smart. I'm not sold on Fisher's coaching abilities - I think Strong is better - but he's a good recruiter. Probably another Majors, but a helluva lot better than Kirby, who will be another Dooley.

I'd rather have Jeff (field goal) Fisher than Jimbo.. Jimbo isn't a big name... I'm not sure he's even all that good a coach.. FSU has had some mediocre seasons under Jimbo, in the ACC i might add..

This year's Tennessee team would have had 8 or 9 wins in that crap conference..

10-4
9-4
10-2 (On the way to 11-3 or 12-2 most likely)

I'll take 10 win seasons all day long.

I think it is more having the ability to evaluate coaching talent. Maybe you should reevaluate you stand on racism or coaching talent..

Fisher has consistently recruited top 5 classes over the past 2-3 years. He may not be a big name to you, but he is to high school seniors who can run a 4.4.

Ok he can recruit but he is still losing games he shouldn't in a much weaker conference . Those same recruiting classes are gonna have even more losses in the sec???

My issue with Jimbo is this. I feel his agent is alot like Les Miles agent, he flirts with another team and Miles gets more money and an extension through 2019.Jimbo is not feeling the love at FSU, thats not a secret, he wants to be wanted. And FSU will step up. IMHO, he wont leave FSU. Unless he wants out of the Bowden shadow, I think he he will stay.

This is exactly what I have thought since Dooley was fired.

ANY of these big names at established programs are using the situation with the SEC having three coaching vacancies to their advantage.

Gruden, Stoops, Gundy, Fisher, Strong, Patterson etc.....they are all bucking for raises more than actually being interested in the job.

I'll believe it when I see one of them at the podium with an Orange tie.

Still crying about those top 10 classes. Jeez.

Most people would be elated with Fisher. Everone knows you wouldn't. Damn you hawk every post about Fisher

You should consider taking some reading comp classes.

This Saban guy went 23-16-1 at Mich St in the lousy Big Ten. His two recent loses were routes by Purdue and Wisconsin. He could never fit in the SEC.

Jimbo Fisher would be a terrible hire when comparing his stats..... Right?

Seems like our fans have it all figured out. Sweet

I don't understand the hatred for Fisher. He's proven he can recruit with the big boys. He's got two ten win seasons in 3 years, could quite possibly go 12-2. Yeah he's lost some games he shouldn't have, but name me ONE COACH IN AMERICA WHO HASN'T! As I stated in another thread. Fulmer lost to Memphis...FREAKING MEMPHIS....then went on to win a NC. Saban lost to LM, Myles lost to UK. Yet he doesn't get credit for beating good teams like Clemson. If we've got a chance to get him from FSU after three straight 5 win seasons, I think that's pretty darn good. As for the big losses...he's only in his 3rd yr as a HC. Ever think he could have went thru growing pains as a HC that others went thru? IMO he's clearly got the best resume of the names I'm hearing we are looking at. And the ACC isn't the SEC, but the pressure to win at FSU is very similar to that of some SEC schools, and a very good prep course to prepare a coach to coach at a place like UT. I think some of our fans are 1)butthurt over the Gruden deal and not willing to give any coach a chance or 2) living in a fantasy land.

We've got a serious chance to get two coaches who are gonna be in a BCS bowl (Strong/Fisher) yet all I hear is "I don't want". Well I DO WANT, and would take him and support Jimbo to the FULLEST until he gives me reason not to. I mean seriously...compare his resume to anyone's out there who is a realistic candidate. I think dude would make a fine coach for Tennessee and be here for a long time. JMO

Fulmer would lose to a team like that every once in a blue moon. Dumbo loses to $hitty teams every year and that's a HUGE difference. Like I said, anyone can recruit at a high level at FSU.

I agree 100%. People are saying he has a bad loss every year yet he has only been HC 3 yrs. I have also heard he only recruits well because he is at FSU.. Well yes I am sure being in florida doesnt hurt but their is a lot of competition in that state.. Miami , Florida, South Florida .. I am willing to bet Les Miles benefits from being in Louisiana . It could be said for a number of other schools as well.

Yes he's only been head coach for 3 years but every year he loses to much less talented teams. If it happened every once in a while it'd be a different story. But he's a chronic under achiever.

I believe fisher will be the next UT coach. I feel like he's been hart's target all along. Not sure anyone else has even been seriously looked at.

Wow. Gameday crew said FSU has a tendency to have too many letdown games and lose to inferior opponents. Herbie said Jimbo Fisher is "still teaching" this team how to win big games.

That's Herbie being kind. People who aren't dumb a$$e$ know he's not a top notch hire.
