Jimbo Fisher

VolBeef on cue hating on Fisher. Like running water.

Fisher should be #1 after Gruden.

Thanks for playing.

I was wrong about Dooley also... Dumbo is garbage and if we hire him idiot fans who support him will be just like the idiot fans who defended Dooley.

Don't know if this has been posted already or not, but VolRumorMill on twitter:

"Just learned that Hart is scheduled to meet with Jimbo Fisher on Monday in NY or mutually agreed upon location."

My big question with Jimbo would be who the DC would be.

Also isn't gran on his staff? Means we would prob. lose graham

You sound like an idiot. I guess having one loser as a head coach wasn't enough for you and your ilk.

I wasn't a Dooley lover, try again. You might not like Jimbo, but his record suggest the exact opposite of what you say. He's a winner, his record proves it. So I'd be willing to say in fact that you are an idiot. Along with being a lil' bi-ch. quit crying son.

So he lost to NC state big deal, if we are that upset about hiring a coach who wins 8-10 games every year t

fisher wins 8-10 games in the lowly acc against wake, UVA, nc state, ga tech--all creampuffs. In the SEC, he may not win more games than dooley.

So I don't understand everyone's thought process, we just had Dooley for 3 years and at this point everyone agrees we was a waste. Then everyone gets all excited about Gruden and we can all understand why would be a great hire on nothing else but name alone. He turned us down now people are saying Jimbo Fisher and everyone acts like he would be the worst hire known to man he recruits well and as long as we don't play Wake Forest we will be fine IMO thoughts?

Fisher is not the man Florida spanked FS and Fisher was fried

And your point is? Being right about one coach doesn't mean sh!t. Especially when you consider that in a major conference like the SEC more coaches are going to fail than are going to succeed, so you can just say that about anybody and have a >50% chance of being right.

I don't want warmed over FSU leftovers! He cant even beat NCST. Has not been proven he can recruit outside FL either.

Lol, have you even taken a look at his recruiting classes? Last years class consisted of 6 players from Florida and 13 players from outside the state. This included two big time players form the state of texas, strong ties to the Maryland DC area, and some big pickups from the state of Alabama (including Jameis Winston despite Alabama being on him hard).

And with all that talent he always finds a way to lose to the likes of NC State. Every year he get beat by far inferior teams. That's a fact not an opinion.

There are plenty of good coaches out there that would love to be Head coach at Tennessee if they see the school is backing the program, academics is probable the largest problem. The SEC has some tough standards an UT academics does not provide much flexibility in the students’ classroom performance as many other conferences are much more flexible. Keep in mind that when one of the coaches gets the offer there are so many decisions to be made. Most of them are not just thinking about the money, it relocating their families, are they going to be able to get the assistant coaches they want, how far away is the team away from being competitive, does the school have what they need to recruit the quality of player the need, how good of a recruiter are they. I could go on but I sure you get the idea and Hart knows if he makes a dumb hire he most likely will get dumped also. Trust me he knows everything about the coaches he is going after and if it takes a little longer than we as fans would like that is ok with me as long as money and academics are not the reason for the coach to not take the position.

So I guess his strong win-loss record isn't a good indication since he isn't in the sec. So I guess you would rather have Tuberville or Houston Nutt. At least they have coached in the sec so they are better than Fisher.

Stupid.

Exactly. Jimbo Fisher would be an awesome hire. He would win games, put together a great staff, and pull in elite recruits.

But wait, he lost to a decent nc state and no. 4 Florida, nah he'd be terrible in the SEC.

So, by that barometer of coaching:

Urban is a terrible coach for losing to Ole Miss in 08. Saban, obviously, can't coach because he lost to A&M, and lord knows, Pete Carroll losing to Stanford in 07 was the ultimate example of his futility.

Now, don't you feel like a silly goose for making these blanket statements to gauge a coach's competence? It ain't a simple black and white game, my friend.

Didn't FSU play strong against Oklahoma 2 years ago? He can recruit and that is what everyone says we need if you notice he has never really had a good qb like we have in bray Worley and Peterson. Everyone is all upset cause he lost to NC state? Seriously? We lost to Wyoming at home with CPF at the helm and some people want him back. Teams lose it happens I'm not saying we get him but people saying he would be a bad hire are just plane stupid. You want Peterson from Boise but he usually loses to a bad team every year two doesent he and he coaches in the Mountain West? So a coach from the mountain west is better then a coach from the ACC? Also if he can out recruit at an ACC school over half the SEC wait till he can tell kids he is in the SEC now.

Another person who needs reading comp classes.
Those coaches lose games like that EVERY NOW AND THEN. Dumbo loses those games every year. See the difference?

So you're disqualifying Fisher because he loses A game every year. While pimping a coach, Patterson, who's on the verge of a 7-5 record, in the first year when his team started playing a real conference schedule.

Not knocking Patterson, by the way. I think he'd be a great hire. I just don't understand why you're not being intellectually consistent for every coaching candidate.

I think your dislike of Fisher goes beyond the fact that "he loses one game every year".

He's also gone 29-10 in his three years there 7-6, 9-4, 7-6

It's also a fact that he has taken a Florida State program that was 23-16 in the three years before he took over to 29-10 during his three years there so far. It is also a fact that the NFL draft has proven that thank to Bobby Bowden's incompetence late in his career he has middle of the road upper class talent since he has been there

SEC Players drafted by school

1. Miami: 14
2. North Carolina: 11
3. Clemson: 10
4. Virginia Tech:6
4. Florida State: 6
4. NC State: 6
7. Wake Forest: 4
8. Maryland: 2
8. Boston College: 2
8. Georgia Tech: 2
8. Virginia: 2
12. Duke: 0

I see the point that Jimbo blows one game each and very year. But I'm starting to think I could live with those 10-11 :clapping:Wins for a couple of years.
