Jimbo Fisher

I see the point that Jimbo blows one game each and very year. But I'm starting to think I could live with those 10-11 :clapping:Wins for a couple of years.

It's amazing. Despite being a huge letdown at the time, wouldn't you take another 01 or 07 type-season again in a heartbeat?

Why Dave Hart will hire Jimbo Fisher.

Hart did not want to step outside of his comfort zone and bring in a big name coach like Gruden. He is more comfortable staying inside his inner circle. Hart's connections are at Alabama and Florida State.

Hart can't hire his top choice Kirby Smart because he does not have head coaching experience. And we have been burned by other Saban hires like Dooley and Sal.

Fisher is ready to leave FSU. The school is wanting to get out of the dumpy ACC and move to the B12. Mark Stoops left to go to Kentucky. The program is in upheaval and Jimbo cannot turn down a chance to go to the SEC.

I am expecting Jimbo Fisher to be our next coach. Boo!

The reading comprehension level on this site is amazingly bad.

It's not that he loses A game every year. It's that he loses at least A GAME to a $hitty team every year.
Can you honestly not see the difference in what I'm saying and what you're saying?

I would love to see how bad Florida st. gets when they lose them will they still get all that great instate talent with a sub par coach? If Dooley was at fsu would he have them in the top 5 every year?

So you're disqualifying Fisher because he loses A game every year. While pimping a coach, Patterson, who's on the verge of a 7-5 record, in the first year when his team started playing a real conference schedule.

Not knocking Patterson, by the way. I think he'd be a great hire. I just don't understand why you're not being intellectually consistent for every coaching candidate.

I think your dislike of Fisher goes beyond the fact that "he loses one game every year".

Really? You're gonna make comments about Patterson? Do a little research on what TCU has had to go through this year then get back to me.

People on this board drive me crazy.

Mention Gruden, "No way he would win", "He's a 500 coach".

Mention Stoops, "No thank you, he loses one game every year."

Mention Fisher, "He's a ACC coach, doesn't translate to the SEC".

If some of y'all had diamond shoes you would bi**h about them being too tight.

Wow.

You're actually using the fact that Patterson thumbed his nose at a serious drug culture developing under his watch as a positive mark on his resume.

I guess you loved the 07-08 Fulmer offseason.

Drug culture? In college football? Really! I'm shocked!!! I guess all schools should try to be a lilly white and spotless as FSU...
Btw all of you Fisher lovers will get to crow after his team plays that power house program of Geargia Tech... Damn that ACC is tough.

First, you argue Patterson's situation, this year, was unique, and thus, explains his team's average performance.

Now, you argue said problems are ubiquitous in sports.

You're not being consistent.

Some posters on TOS hearing it may be Fisher.

Starting to pick up steam.

Let's hope it's Fisher, I can live with 11 - 1 seasons. I think 90% would be happy.

We know you will not VolBeef so need need to insert your dribble.

BTW Patterson is never leaving TCU unless it's for TX so pick another horse to obsess over.

Dude you don't like fisher. How many times do you have to repeat it and go after other posters? Just leave the thread.

nope acc is entirely different from the sec. end of thread. thanks for playing.

That is why Florida getting Urban Meyer from Utah worked out so badly for them. Also, Houston coach did pretty well this year as well. But, we hired CDD instead of Houston coach the last time around. Said Houston coach kicked Bama's butt this year. Stupid arguments are stupid.

Why is he the first thing I see when I do my hourly check on govolsxtra.com? Where does all this Jimbo Fisher mumbojumbo stem from? He's got a really really good thing going right now. I thought Gruden was more of a possibility than Fisher. I never though Gruden was a true candidate; I've been on that Patterson train until I saw they went 7-5 in a down Big12 season.

Does anyone back this idea of Fisher? Does anyone think he'd be better with SEC recruits and talent? He lost to a NC State team that Dooley beat...I do think Fisher is 2-1 against UF and he beat SCar in the Chic-fil-a bowl, while Dooley was 0-6 against both teams. Does that make him a prime candidate or even an "acceptable" hire? As a UT fan, I just kinda viewed all ACC coaches (even Cutfliffe) as mediocre or lateral hires...nothing close to a homerun.

I do think I'd rather have Fisher over Art Bryles...

One of the positives of this move, as well, would be the extra media attention the hiring would get, who would lap up the fact that Bowden's successor bolted.

I think given the money, Fisher can bring in a solid coaching staff. I can live with Fisher or Strong. Unfortunately, neither coach will have 100 percent support from the fanbase, but winning can cure it all.
