Jones Wants The Fans To Call It "Fist-up Defense"

Probably best if we all stay quiet with our fists up for the opponents 3rd down attempt. Wow just wow

lol...You simply amuse me.

Yes. It probably is best. Because it will take that knid of silence to summon those "REAL DEMONS" that will be standing there when they look back down from the stands.

Sorry, if I didn't tell this in a way to make you understand it was all a make believe little story for the enjoyment of those smart enought to know that we really won't be quiet and we really won't be calling up demons.

Let the cheerleaders do their job; just go out and kick some a$$. I could care less if they sprint off the field or not, who cares.

And vollygirl I'm not trying to be mean or hateful to you at all. I like your enthusiasm. Always like reading your posts. I just think the timing of this is weird. This is something he had to be focused on during recruiting. Could you see any good coach announcing something for fans to do right after NSD. No way they are too focused on recruiting to even have time for this.

Did you watch the tape? It's not like he called a press conference to announce that we will all raise our fists. He was in the middle of a recruiting celebration talking about the defensive class after the crowd bursted into applause.

I really don't think some of you people on this site know anything about the game of football either.

I didn't know the crowd applauded. That changes everything for me.

Funny guy. It seemed like the coaches got a little energy from that reaction. I think were all sick of crappy defense. That's one thing that we can all agree on.

Vols1707 is one of those people who skims through a post real quick and tries to find something to flame the poster about, before actually reading the whole post, which in turn makes him look all the more foolish in the end. No real football knowledge required for that, so I would say he is accomplishing his intended goals.

I played qb for the all-Marine team and coached high school football for three years. Played all-Marine ball with Mike Anderson former NFL leading rusher and ROY so I've dabbled in some football.

I wasn't really talking about you specifically on the knowledge comment. It's this mentality that makes me shake my head.

Like you can just "kick some ass." Ass kicking is about discipline, mental and physical. That's something that few already have and most have to be taught.

Lol i still help a high school with there gameplan. Have to go next week actually and help a coach teach his new qb how to read the new system there going to.

Well, sucks for the team you're working with that you apparently don't know how to get any enjoyment from the game. Shame. Life is short my friend.

Nashvol I'm just sick of reading the same posts about how Tennessee finally has it right. Same thing for 5 years now. Still no results.

Really? What year/years were you the QB on the All Marine Team?

I seem to recall Mike Anderson played on the 11th Marines Football Team at Pendleton.

I fully understand that. I made a huge fool of myself last year at the Alabama game. I was insanely frustrated (and slightly intoxicated). I want results just like everyone else but you don't just wish for better results. The only thing Dooley was right about was that its a process. Just like anything else in life, you go MAKE the changes necessary to see different results.

Why I got out of it professionally. Not enough $ for rhe stress. I actually enjoy it now just consulting.

Interesting how people take a post showong only stats with no opinion attached to it.

The point was that cincy's d was much better than Tennessee's and that was with cincy level players.

So, yes, Tennessee's d will be improved.

Carry on

I f****** hate you
