Exactly! This is definitely all on ESPN. We constantly see articles about record breaking sports broadcast rights. It's because ESPN can bid any number it wants and then force us to pay it for them. When these pissing matches happen, the end result is always that the carrier caves (which they have to with customers jumping ship) and then customers end up paying extra. We're the ones footing the bill in all this. It's ridiculous.
Boom....And I've been a Charter customer for many years and over the last 4-5 years they have a price increase 2 or 3 times a year. They just had one on my last bill. Screw em.I despise Disney more than anything. But I didn’t get a vote when they bought ESPN or a vote on the SEC contract. But I’m sick of hearing how spectrum is doing this for it’s customers. They have never lowered their prices when negotiations went their way. If Spectrum cared about its customers they would quit making us pay for 5 CSPANs, 27 shopping networks and 100 music only channels that no one ever turns to.
Sounds like it's on the consumer. Their job is to make as much money as possible for their product. That's the obligation to share holders. They would be negligent to those they are responsible to if they didn't maximize their profits. This is definitely all on ESPN. All the channels you just named actually pay Charter to be on the dial. They lower your cable bill believe it or not. Same for the religious networks.I despise Disney more than anything. True, and as a consumer I only deal with Spectrum. If they can’t supply me with the product I want, I’ll find another company that will. Simple as that.Sounds like it's on the consumer. Well according to Charter ESPN charges 8$ per customer. My bill is over 100 so obviously we are paying for something we don’t watch. All the channels you just named actually pay Charter to be on the dial. They lower your cable bill believe it or not. Same for the religious networks.
Don't take that as Charter is generous. They aren't. But if they went away you better believe Charter would recoup that by raising rates. But you aren't paying for those channels. That's why it's impossible to get them taken off your lineup.
