Keystone Pipeline - a red line?

The Mrs has being trying to explain this to me for years.

We do some of our grocery shopping at Food City, we do have one of their cards. It irks me every time we go when I hear the cashier say you saved x amount of money today. No I did not save money, I just spent money

Slap the beotch next time, you'll feel better.😝

So why do you believe them when they tell you that a high speed rail project will be an economic boom but not an oil pipeline project?

When did I ever believe that? Is that waht Harry Reid said on his first day in office? I must have missed it. Like I said, I think it would be a great project for our country's billionaires. Not you and I.

I was simply stating that more choices for travel is never a bad thing.

Yep, agreed. I'm sure the Hollywood elite could help fund it as well.

Fine by me. I don't care if it's a group of conservative preachers. Just needs to be with private money

Why would they be interested?

Who are you to judge?

He's a socialist. Says it all.

From each according to his ability to each according to his needs..... or something like that.

Considering that most kids can't make change without a cash register telling them how much is to be counted out, I think he... 8188... as a teacher is paid way too much. It's the exact same judgment he's making in this.

Well, it appears there's only one person left that doesn't want to get on board.

Like PJ said, pass it in the House and Senate and force Obama to veto it.

Agreed. Get it done before the SOTU address and let him explain it.

It will pass congress with bipartisan support from what I have read. Sen Manchin is a co sponsor of the senate bill.

Will Obama veto or has he drawn another red line that has no meaning.

This pipeline has become solely about politics, both parties are digging in their heels simply to appease their constituents - no surprise here. This pipeline will have a negligible impact on climate change, gas prices, and job growth. As a country, we have bigger fish to fry.

I am really on the fence on this thing. It is a pipeline after which is fixed infrastructure. So once it's built, there will be few jobs in the day to day operation. Maintenance and some operational personnel. During construction, some jobs in the construction, sure. But it's not a real long pipeline, it shadows one already in existence... so how long will those jobs exist? I don't for a second believe that there will be 45,000 jobs in this thing as I have seen in places.. but probably more than 2000 that I have also seen. But again.. temporary. So why all the fuss? And why is Obola so hard over against it? Neither side makes much sense imho....

All true but it will have some impact and is widely supported by the population. So the question begs, what's Os reason for a veto?

My guess is that Obama will say that he is waiting for all the studies to be completed.
The real reason he will veto it is because he is playing politics.

To what end? It's not helping him or his party politically.
