Kirk Herbstreit Singles out Nico

Herbstreit hates Tennessee but lives in Tennessee. I hope his neighbors give him a one finger salute every time they see him. He has to bring Tennessee up in a bad light and then kiss Saban's butt in the process. What a complete boob.

Nico has a hard road ahead of him. There’s going to be a lot of people out there that normally wouldn’t care about his performance but are going to want to see him fail now because of a NIL deal.

You mean his alleged NIL deal. It’s never been completely proven he got one.

As far as NIL is going to cause problems in the locker room. If, the players are good enough to draw that NIL so be it. If and or when they move to the next level of football, there is going to be a wide range of pay in that locker room as well. There are people at my workplace that make more and less than I do. I have no ill feelings about pay.

Did anyone ever confirm it was Nico that's the $8,000,000.00 man? I know it's been speculated that it was him but I haven't seen any confirmation of it. I honestly believe that NIL needs some firm rules, but I don't think getting congress involved is the answer, and who knows if the NCAA will even be around much longer? The thing for me is, is it possible that these high rated recruits are making bank with NIL deals, plus still getting money under the table just like before NIL? Greed will make people do strange things.

I'm not going to say alot here, but still say alot. Herbie played hocky at the same local rink my little brother did. I watched him play at osu. He is a die hard BIG fan and OSU fan, but a good dude, that I never heard any problems with personally. The fact that he targets UT means he respects you.

The “establishment” of college football (sorry I couldn’t come up with a better term) HATES NIL because it undoes the once iron clad advantage the blue blood programs had by paying players under the table. NIL puts all the cards on the table so to speak and lets more honest programs like UT enter the game. Herbstreit represents the “old money” world of College Football so I am not surprised by his outburst
That's pretty accurate.. The only Parody Saban is interested in is for things to stay like it is. They had cheating perfected, this blows all that up. At the very least opens the door for others to join at the table. They don't like that.

So, I am wondering, simply wondering, that if Nico Suave signed with the OSU Buckeyes vs the Volunteers, would ol' Kirk have gone out of his way to portray Nico in a negative light?.......

If someone offered Herbie $100k for that card, wonder if he would refuse on principle.

TN is just now doing what Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson were doing all along…paying their players…we actually have a lot of catching up to do, since they’ve been allowed such privilege for the last 30 years or so.

Well, Tennessee was paying them under Peanuthead but not getting much in return.

That wasn't what opened the door to NIL. It was the US Supreme Court restoring rights to college athletes that are afforded to everyone else to earn money.

Don't like NIL, call Biden (but not during nap time) and your congressmen. It's going to take federal action to stop it.
Exactly right. I don’t care for NIL, but according to the SC, the NCAA would need an anti-trust exemption to do what they have done for years, and that would take legislation.

Hey Kirk baby,Shouldn't Ohio State's nil be referred to as "Come to Tattoo U. for tats and cars, and your own personal bookie(an Art Schlister nod).

Is OSU still throwing in that free red sweater & "How to Dress for Honesty" video (narrated by Jim Tressel) to every new coach and recruit?

Poor Herbie. Putting out that conjecture and looking dumb is his forte.

Per Herbie;
“I’ve got a 25-year track record of not being a guy that pokes at Michigan even through I’m an Ohio State guy,” he said. “I take a lot of pride in being fair, and I was not fair tonight and I apologize.”

Taking issue with Herbie on his fairness claim might be the only thing Michigan and Tennessee fans agree on

Nope. The 8 million is alleged and nothing else.
