and Florida beat a Michigan State team with All-American Kalin Lucas and they . made it to the Final Four without him this year. and that was all without a single starting caliber senior. but that's just one game just like your Kansas win, though three of your 7 scholarship players were senior, multi-year starters. Now imagine your entire team is wiped out after the 2006-07 season and you've had similar depth to that except no starting-caliber seniors since then. Yes, Tennessee beat Kansas with only 7 scholarship players but they didn't play the entire season with that kind of depth.while thats all well and good you have to realize a good coach can make it happen. we lost probably our best player halfway through the year and we were down to 7 scholarship players in a game agianst Kansas and we won. Also we ended up in the elite eight, all without our best player. Excuses don't work here.

Oklahoma City has as much talent as anyone in the NBA. You think they can win it all? Of course not. Experience matters.

This isn't about making excuses but rather showing you guys while every contender in the SEC is taking steps backward, the Gators will be surging forward.

once again I wasn't trying to compare victories or resumes. just saying that winning one game with a thin roster like Tennessee did doesn't mean playing an entire season on a thin roster isn't a detriment. the OP didn't even talk about the experience difference either.really? wasnt this like the 5th game of the season? thats about as legitimate as Cuse loosing in an exhibition game. we beat Kansas and UK in the regular season as well as OSU in the tournament. a close win over Mich St. in the very beginning of the season doesnt compare.
But for the sake of the thread, I will say this. Your not going to be "taking over" anything. Your losing ALL of your leaders and a lot of experience. While you are bringing back more than UK, your not exactly in a much different position.
You will be leaning heavily on a freshman class (Harris, McRae, Golden), and will probably stumble early as will the cats. Quite frankly, I think its a 3 or 4 teams race for the SEC next year, between the 4 teams from the east.
Will the Vols be a favorite? Possibly yeah. But its not a "take over" by any means.
Ky has officially announced that 5 of their freshmen will be leaving school for the NBA draft. All are projected to be taken in the first round. Three seniors will also leave the team. If Cal can't win the NC with 5 first round picks, can we expect to take over the east next year? No one can lose that much talent and not have a drop off. No matter who KY signs this spring, they will not be as talented as this year.
Knight > Any UT point
Lamb > Best UT shooter
Miller, Jones or and Leslie (for now)= Harris
Leslie> Hall
Kanter> Williams
Sorry, but yes, UK will be picked to win the east.
Because he's not a dumbass like some other UK fans that come on here and brag about their recruiting class.
A UK fan believing that there is no possible way that UK could ever be inferior? What a revelation!! I bet you also thought there was no way that UK wouldn't win the national title before the season had begun too....whoops...
Hell, more than half his list of bragging material has yet to even commit to Kentucky, let alone sign their LOI.
His post was generic troll garbage. "Every current high schooler we're recruiting is better than not only every player on your current roster, but also every signed recruit you have coming in."
I mean you come in and post that your team just picked up some commitments. Cool. But this kind of crap, get better material or get out.
