Sweden Health Agency Withdraws Controversial Coronavirus Report

Footballs are being spiked because we trust Sweden?

LOL, did you read this article? They want to make sure it's right and they are saying we should expect a re-release as soon as its ready. They aren't hiding ****. So far, there is no reason not to trust them.

Let me give you a piece of advice...in this case, it would probably be best to just skip over the questioning of the source of something that doesn't fit your narrative or position...and just go ahead and jump right into why it wouldn't have worked here, how the right wing is to blame for us not doing it that way...or even prop up Sweden's socialized healthcare because that seems to be a go to.

I'm still skeptical, but to this point, it looks like Sweden got this right. I would start dealing with this potential reality.

Good news, Bart. Hope you're back at it asap.
Thanks. Yes, considering the affordable housing crisis, I think this has to be one of if not the first industry to come back.

I have been enjoying working from home with the occasional field work for essential projects. I've had to supplement my hours with vacation time a bit here and there but can't complain of any hardship. It's nice to get all caught up for once.

My wife got laid off way back in the beginning when public schools closed. Her unemployment claim went smoothly and since the CARES money kicked in she's more or less broke even. She just got a new job and raise with a better employer that is not shut down due to CV.

We are blessed. Hope y'all get through this alright too.

That's not why I posted the link. Sweden's public health agency said 33% of their population would be infected by may 1 and then it is taken down and now everything is fine. I don't think so but go ahead and spike you balls.

Did you even read the article? They are withdrawing the report to make a correction. More than likely someone found a result error due to an incorrect calculation. Is that result error going to completely invalidate the report? Maybe. You never know it might just be a slight correction. You can't just read the headline and let your bias run determine the worst.

It does sound like I wrote the article though. The last sentence of the second paragraph under the "Error not explained, yet" headline states: Among the claims were that for every one person tested positive with COVID-19, up to 999 others could have the infection without knowing.

I said it back in February: The minute you had one case you had a thousand.

I have to get this straight... we hear “China is faking numbers, don’t trust China”! Then we hear “we can’t trust the numbers coming out of southern Europe, they’re skewed”. Then it’s “The US numbers are a joke, no way they are correct”.

Now, it’s “look at the numbers in Sweden! Looks good to me, we’re back baby”! Why do we trust Sweden more than the US again? I thought they were a nation of lazy democratic socialists?

Everyone went to the high side according to the models they used. Like I said before bad input= bad output. I haven't found one successful model that didn't blow itself up. This happens with every new bug that shows up.

Some here haven't been as fortunate. Our family has been largely unaffected....except for school, college and altered wedding plans.
Best wishes to yall. Hope her new job is goes well.

I'm reminded of this everyday at work. The public school system has totally failed us.
That's as true as saying the health care system has totally failed us. We're 28th or something in life expectancy yet pay more than twice per capita than any other country.
Actually you would be more accurate to say that our public school system is more succesfful than our health care system.

Doesn't it ever get old criticizing the President due to unnamed sources?

Georgia is Kemp's deal. He can sink or swim on it but it does not reflect on Trump one way or another
If Trump was privately telling Kemp that he approved of his plan to reopen Georgia this week, but then ambushed him publicly with criticism for it just one day later as that article claims, then that does reflect poorly on Trump. I don't know how you would go about proving that is what happened, but if it did, that is an awful look for Trump.

Birx didn’t seem to get that it was a joke.

Yeah, it’s a little cringeworthy there. Wondering if he had been briefed on some treatments being discussed that might be promising and just did a bad job of relaying the details. Regardless, that’s what your medical experts are there for. Stop and ask the pros to comment, step aside and let them do their job. UV light is, however, used to treat some medical conditions including psoriasis and other skin conditions. Internally, I don’t know. One of the resident medical professionals would have to address that.
