I believe you have convinced yourself. But it appears that your side has gone from blindly defending him to making excuses for him.He wasn't bein sarcastic. That is Trump trying to cover his azz. He was being serious about wanting to find a way to "disinfect" the body in the same way that surfaces are disinfected with Lysol or other cleaning products. He wasn't talking about using Lysol or ammonia or anything to inject into the body, however. You know that isn't what he was saying. The media knows that also.
Trump has a way of giving his enemies ammo in certain situations. This is an example of that, although a (very) poor one. Obviously, anyone with common sense knows he wasn't saying inject disinfectant. I think 80% of people, including Democrats know this. Yet, we have to play these parsing of word games with the people that are doing nothing but spreading fear and misinformation.
My feelings are if you are fawking stupid enough to inject or drink cleaners or disinfectant, then by george do it. Darwinism at its finest. The only posters on here making a stink about words taken out of context are our liberal leaning contingent. Sounds like they are afraid that their party will fall prey to a play on their stupidity. Its the right way. If you're interpreting it as he said he wants people to self inject chemical disinfectants into their veins...well..Ive got some space moon cheese and some beautiful ocean front property in South Sudan to sell you..
It's what many on the left in DC wants. Swoop in and pay everyone not to work. Socialism being driven in by a wedge. If farmers aren't making money off their crops, food prices are going to skyrocket. Restaurants are closing down at an alarming rate as it is.
There's gong to be more expensive products on grocery store shelves at a time when people have less money to spend.
Could you imagine the civil unrest if the food supply chains get interrupted? We're talking Venezuela level.
Scary times we live in.
For the last time. He wasn't talking about using a disinfectant like Lysol and injecting it. He was probably thinking off the top of his head and wondering at that moment if a similar method of "disinfecting" the body could be done with some type of medication or other medical method. It didn't come out that way, but if anybody is halfway honest, they know he wasn't saying inject cleaners or commercial disinfectants in the body.I believe you have convinced yourself. The way the CDC is counting COVID-19 deaths, is no different than the way they count deaths from the seasonal flu. These deaths include "coronavirus-related" deaths, in addition to "coronavirus-caused" deaths. If the scientific community insists on claiming that 36,000 Americans die from the seasonal flu on an annual average, then in order to be consistent (which is the whole point of keeping such statistics), then they must include "coronavirus-related" deaths in the COVID-19 running tally... because you can't arrive at that annual average of 36,000 seasonal flu deaths, without including "flu-related" deaths. The way they're counting deaths is concerning and again it was HYPOTHETICAL

And I don't care really what their political leanings are, let the stupid die.I’m all for natural selection . Most of us have evolved enough , not to need warning labels on hot coffee cups or to drink / inject bleach into our body . All of this really makes me wonder about the ones screeching over it . If you are sitting around thinking about doing it .. you have bigger issues than how Trump phrased it .

The easy solution is to just say that Donald Trump is a goofball doofus, and nobody of a sound mind would ever take medical advice from him... and so, he is harmless.I just saw it again. He talked about injecting it or using it to wipe down an area. But he definitely included injecting it in his remarks.
Watch it. He definitely, DEFINITELY, said it.
Now, the easy solution is to say he misspoke and did not mean to say what he did say. Easy. And hopefully correct.
But no, his ego is so massive he can't bring himself to just say he misspoke.

They would have to be mentally impaired... and already posing a hazard to themselves. Even Trump's most ardent supporters understand that he is an ignoramus. Nobody takes him seriously.I'd be shocked if people sucked down some lysol based on what he said. I guess in a country of 350 million some idiot might. But he'd have to be a Trump voter. No doubt.
