Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

therein lies the problem....some people would rather risk their life than have the government serve its purpose. Over some falacy that it is a handout, but they don't have a problem with the government giving corporations a tax break. The government is funded by taxes. Take care of the citizens so that citizens are not forced to put their lives in danger.

We should probably kill the corporate tax altogether, and tax it all as personal income of shareholders.

Wonder when gay folks will realize that In all those muslim counties in the sandbox...they throw gays from the rooftops or stone them to death under sharia law...and nobody bats an eye in the muslim community ....

* this seems to only apply to adult gay relationships. Pedophilia seems to be rampant and accepted regardless of sex...their prophet Muhammad married a 7to and began raping her at 9yo...stories of muslim men and little boys are also everywhere and apparently it's a "dont ask dont tell" kinda thing.

Well...the purpose of the government isn’t to print funny money to distribute amongst the people.

Why not let the people who want to participate in life and the economy do so? And those that don’t can hide inside with their masks and draw unemployment?

I had no idea how many nancies we had living amongst us.

I can get along with just about anyone with different views than mine but this lockdown thing is probably going to be a litmus test for me. I don’t think I can have friends who are scared to go outside because the governor said so. It also means they cannot interpret data nor gauge risk.
I heard it formulated this way earlier: How many things are there that you would prefer to die than do? I think anyone who says none is either immature or has a seriously maligned ethic.

For me, giving up my freedom as an autonomous being capable of making my own decisions is one of those things.

Not interested in having others protect me from myself, and I'm not interested in being told I'm too stupid to apply due precaution to protect others.

Give the data to the people. Encourage the people to be responsible... And if the government can find it in them selves to do those things in good faith, the people will respond appropriately en masse. If you don't believe that, I have no idea why you would choose to live in a free country.

I am literally staring this issue in the face. I have lost respect for some friends.

Let me tell you something, this coronavirus has been a wake up for me also... and I am used to selling people short and being cynical. But there are several people in my day to day life, family, fiends and elsewhere that are really showing me who they are. It disappoints me more than it angers me. But this coronavirus is a test. This at least gives me the opportunity to truly know who is a threat. Because these people are definitely threats. They will tattle tell on their neighbors or sell you out for a bit of safety.

yeah, yeah...go argue your next case with "kool-aid, your Honor!"

Well, no, I don't find Amash talking about FISA worries when he began advocating Trump impeachment in May 2017.

The surveillance state has been growing 70 years and under every president. It and the 'deep state' are inseparable. I don't see how one can be upset about one and not the other, especially when it takes on the aspects of the NKVD to prevent the election of a candidate, or his removal from duly elected office. With Flynn, Page, Pappa, Trump Jr. for example, the FBI brass literally said "here's our man, let's find the crime".

"And the crimes better lead to the president"

Amash can certainly cast a floor vote, he just doesn't have the guts for the actual fight.
This isn’t court. It’s a message board. The Mueller/Horowitz stuff was debated on here ad infinitum. I was involved and gave my thoughts, which contained reference to specific pages of the report, which is probably the most many of the people I was arguing with ever read of it. The way you’re representing those events is dishonest or you’ve allowed yourself to be misled. My guess is a bit of both.

As for Amash, until you acknowledge that the fight over FISA was against Trump:

Sure it is; when you state I'm misleading or misled, I challenge you to be specific, then rebut your argument. You're invited to state your case. If you need help, start with Carter Page.

it doesn't matter whether Trump and Amash were on opposite sides of his amendment. What does that have to do with his utter disregard for those agencies corruption, their launching baseless investigations into a campaign, president, entrapping and ruining 37 year veterans (Flynn), a known CIA asset/veteran/and FBI asset (Page), and run a rope a dope with foreign agents on Pappa? Are you saying Amash is that petty and vindictive, to let Trump staff hang over a policy disagreement with Trump?! Wooo...that's even worse than I stated it.

Further, it has nothing to do with Amash's support for impeachment, over three separate issues, from May 2017 (Comey firing), May 2019 (Mueller report), and Sept 2019 (Ukraine call).

It appears Amash has an impeach reflex re: Trump. TDS-Lite, perhaps.
Whatever the case, he looks good in the stall but don't run him on the track.

Pritzker, earlier in April:
“Now the rest is up to you. Our strongest weapon against COVID-19 is you. … For a little while longer we must all commit to staying home, staying safe and practicing social distancing to stay healthy,” he said Thursday afternoon. “Every one of us must abide by this to get through this difficult time, so to honor you and to bring us together in our commitment to doing what’s right I’m introducing a new statewide initiative to participate in and it’s called ‘All in Illinois.’” […]

“‘All in’ is our anthem and point of pride. Illinoisans staying home for the good of each other and the good of our state,” Pritzker said. “Be all in. ‘All in Illinois’ means we care about one another, we care about our communities. We are one Illinois, and we’re all in this together.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few days ago when asked why his wife and family are "All in....Florida Equestrian Estate":
Reporter:
Where’s the First Lady? Is she accompanied by a state security detail? Has she engaged in non-essential travel? What is your response to people who say the stay-at-home order and non-essential travel bans aren’t abided by your family?” a reporter asked.
Pritzker:
“Well, first of all, I want to say is that in politics it used to be that we kept our families out of it,” Pritzker said with a hint of anger. “My official duties have nothing to do with my family. So, I’m just not going to answer that question. It’s inappropriate and I find it reprehensible, honestly that, that a reporter wrote a story about it.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently, when Pritzker and his family disregard his own "All In Illinois" orders, now is also not the time for livestock to question the gentry.

Because eating from a cold plate of misery by yourself is no fun.
