Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I knew this was political and not science when the symbolic mask craze and stupid social distancing started. Anyone in healthcare knows about proper mask wearing. Then when I began studying survival rates I knew that this was not science at all. Heck even the flame thrower Fauci flip flopped so much on this stuff. He started by using his medical knowledge but then switched when it became evident the virus politics.
Bingo.

Within two weeks and with absolutely no new medical information, the entire country ignored decades of research and common knowledge that masks do not stop the transmission of respiratory viruses. Hell, Fauci himself even acknowledged this early on. Of course, there were the enlightening memes about pee and pants, perfectly applicable to viruses measured in nanometers.

Now, there is a year+ of data which continues to demonstrate no difference in areas, countries, and schools that did or did not have mask mandates, and people continue to believe the nonsense.

A doctor working in that hospital in Alabama is more qualified to determine that their ICU is full than any statistics you want to post.
I looked through her Twitter. She is bat guano crazy. 2 hours ago she was posting a picture of her supper. Shes not that worried. She did succeed in get the attention she wanted from the folks seeking out things to be scared of.

This is the best one yet….
You came to the conclusion that posting a photo of her supper means she isn’t worried about her Covid ICU unit

I can see the current numbers versus historical numbers. Then I do math in my head and see her numbers are exaggerated. She is a nut
Wow, you are smart… but wait…..since she only stated that her ICU was full and didn’t post any numbers or even mention numbers, how did you do the math?

I went online and read their current numbers. Then I compared them to past numbers. The state of AL is still down 90% from where they were at their peak. Research is what smart people do. Wow.

COVID statistics are readily available online. I am also in communication with local hospital administration, who work regularly with hospital staff around the southeast and confirm that there has not been a large increase in hospitalizations or a strain on healthcare systems.

Nobody said the numbers were higher or lower from before except you, the doctor simply stated that their COVID icu unit was full. Everything else you added was irrelevant.

The doctors tweet is simply not in line with the reality of the statistics. Somebody lying or mistaken, the doctor with rainbows and BLM handles in her Twitter, or the state and National reporting databases.

Check the news in Alabama from 7/16

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — The number of reported COVID-19 cases in Alabama has spiked nearly 40% in just the past 15 days. The number of coronavirus cases is at its highest level since February, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
In addition 9 children in Alabama hospitalized from COVID-19, one on ventilator.

I would say much of this has to do with scientific literacy on both sides of the issue.

Conservative mindsets are drawn to single enduring truths and absolutes. As scientific knowledge proliferates and becomes more publicly accessible, we're increasingly aware of the chaotic, occasionally conflicting, and ever changing nature of science. As there is no such thing as settled science, there's a pushback against the field. Especially as the role of politics is increasingly more evident. This is neither a good nor a bad thing - it just is what it is.

Liberal mindsets are drawn to a variety of truths and perspectives, with individuals deciding which truth or evidence fits their world view the best. As scientific knowledge proliferates and becomes more publicly accessible, the are more perspectives for liberally minded individuals to latch on to and agree with. There are attempts at consensus, but individual preferences still hold sway when it comes to what is and is not accepted. This is neither a good nor a bad thing, but it is not generally something I find preference with.

The scientific community has been able to hide behind its complexity and general awkwardness for centuries. The scientific community as a whole is going to have to find a better way to communicate their findings in a way that is neither condescending nor difficult for the layman to understand. It must also find ways to help the general population to see research in context without trying to do the thinking for them.
Holy cow ash this whole post is a complete crock of **** attempting to validate a stupid ass assertion in a tweet.
