Let's be honest about the GOP position on health care....

Premiums will sky rocket for average income Americans. The Dems just shoved another bloated bill down every ones throat. Wow, this is really getting ridiculous now.

i believe there is a article in the bill that states premiums can't go up for 10 years.

No they wont. Obama now controls health insurance premiums. So they will go out of business and we can buy our health care from the government! I know I can't wait...

The bill does not create a public option, though it expands the universe of covered persons. The debate I've heard on the finances is between a surplus or a deficit add of $500 billion in either direction over ten years. That's $25 billion a year, at worst (or best), depending on your point of view, which is a tiny percentage of the budget.

The real goal here by the GOP has purely been to try to prevent Obama from having a victory, and they've lost that battle now.

i have to agree with this statement because the republicans never gave a idea on the subject. that being said the bill still isn't very good.

now that could happen, but it is still better than having no insurance at all. i know mine has went up 6 times in the last year and a half, something needed to be done, but don't think this will fix much.

All a smoke screen, it will crumble and it'll be a complete government take over. It will result in a single payer system which in the end is what the libtards wanted anyway. The government can't afford it. In the end they'll stick it to us, them or the insurers one.

Don't you get it? They will get the medical care anyway, its just a question of whether it can be done more efficiently, which is what the bill is about.

Im gonna go ahead and say thats not going to happen. Have you seen medicaid? I mean our government is so inefficently ran. You have to fill out a form, just to be able to fill out a form, its absurd to think that the government can run a business better then the private sector. Another point and case, FedEx vs USPS.

See what I mean? The opposition to the bill is 90 % political gamesmanship and 10 % real policy dispute.

The GOP should be ashamed of themselves for so brazenly yet again placing their own political ambition above the critical needs of the country.

The Democrat party should be just as ashamed, this isn't about taking care of the average American, this is about trying to save some face and produce something from the gauntlet Obama laid down during his campaign for president. This is politics, it's the way it works and has been going on this way for some time, acting as if this is new and hasn't been tried by democrats over the years as well is absurd.

it's the samething with them. i really didn't think one of there ideas were going to fix the problem. i know the ideas that randy gardner and bob latta of ohio gave would have done nothing. then listening to kaptur and brown i came away with the same response. how is this going to help anybody again.

No deflecting. He claimed there is an income tax increase in the bill. I'd like to see that reference.

in 2011 employers are required to disclose the value of health benefits on employees' W-2 tax forms. Care to take a guess at why that was added?

I'm sure its for statistical purposes only... You don't trust your government?

your last post said they had no ideas and now it's that you don't think their ideas would work. If you just want free healthcare paid for by your fellow citizens just admit it

Several congressmen came out and admitted that there is a tax increase IN THE BILL.
But, LG was wrong about what I posted. I know, I know.....HUGE surprise!

There's an income tax increase in the bill?

That will come later when we find once again that government isn't efficient and believes money grows on trees. Mark my words there will be new tax(es) needed to cover this endeavor, it's inevitable.

Absolutely, unless they've all been dumbed down to a point that they believe there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. They don't have any money now, how in the world can they afford this?
