When you refer to what some one says as being idiotic , you may as well be saying he's an idiot for saying it ! IMO
not true in the least. very bright people say idiotic things (or I have to at least assume that some of the democrats are bright).

He doesn't need to be benched, but he doesn't need to be leading our team in minutes played by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm amazed at how many people on here are on his jockstrap because of what he did last season. Sure he's a good player, but the guy has obviously lost it somewhere along the way.

It's one thing to be in a slump, but it's another to have it last 17 games and seemingly get worse before it has gotten better.

But some people would just assume ride him to an early exit in the NCAA Tournament than have his minutes drop.

He isn't going to shoot himself out of it when you can TELL, even two months into the season, how hesitant he is and that he's still doing the same things wrong that he's done the whole time.

It also doesn't help that he refuses to shoot a simple jump shot. He is barely driving to the lane, which he added to his game last year, and isn't "drawing defenders" like he was early in the year, despite his slump.

He's being left wide open time and time again and isn't shooting the ball. It's disappointing and hopefully he gets out of it when we need it most around SEC and NCAA Tournament time, but it isn't going to do any good to have him out there more than anyone else if his head is all jacked up.

I wouldn't quite say that he has lost it somewhere along the way and I believe tonight might be the night that he gets 20+. Chris is probably our best player and one of the leaders of this team which we saw last year, I Believe hes getting plenty of playing time and certainly doesn't need anymore, however I'd like to see him more involved with the ball, he needs more driving to the lane, and screens for him to hit threes.

His minutes have dropped every season since he was a Sophomore.

Someone HAS to play the minutes. He is the one guard on our team who can penetrate, shoot, defend and is experienced and disciplined. Others have a couple of those, he is the only one with all of them.

I'll take Chris not shooting well playing more minutes than anyone else we have any day, just like Bruce is, and I'll keep on winning.

If we're relying on CLo for penetration and D, we're in trouble. I love the guy and want him to be the hammer again, but let's not try ascribing any defensive ability to him or any ability to break down a D.

I'm not saying he's our best at either, I'm just saying he's capable of doing all of the above. Ramar and Tyler can't shoot, JaJuan doesn't know when to stop shooting. Chris probably isn't our best anything, but can do it all.

Point is, I'll take the guy who is good at everything before the guy who is great at one thing over the long haul.

Other than having some kind of mental block on his shot, I think his head is fine. He's being smart by not shooting every time he touches it. He needs to take good, open, timely shots until he's in his groove again.

Why not? From an opposing coach's point of view, he is the most dangerous man in the arena. You must know where he is on every offensive posession, and you must go out and get him one step across half court. Slump or not, he draws attention and stretches defenses. You just can't afford to lose track of him for one instant.

He also handles the ball well and shoots over 80% from the line. You really think 28 minutes a game is too many?

last night he got benched too much

30 minutes sounds like a pretty good amount of minutes for lofton. However it seemed like he was on the bench longer than 10 minutes. I do not believe JaJuan smith should have got 32 mintues, especially the way he was shooting last night.

Good call on benching Lofton guys....

I'll definately be checking in to see what you all have to say this season. All sorts of credibility abound to One of the Smiths, Tiger Den, and Nation of Vols.

I'm eager to learn.
:nono: I wouldn't be able to teach you much heck I would of benched rose tonight and he had 19 , but he was really off , several turnovers , bad passes , even airballed a freethrow . Coaching 101 ( Easier from the recliner but not near as effective ) :realmad: this dude is a hamburger all-american

All my friends thatare big UK fans told me that if Lofton has played most of the second half that UK would have lost that game. They are still amazed at him bombing that fade away 3 before the half.

Bump.

Never gets old reminding people of the fact that they made one of the most asinine statements ever uttered.

That's some heavy-hitting analysis.

Boy I will tell you what benching Lofton would be a good idea if he hadn,t came out gunning tonight against Georgia.
