Well Scotty thats a good thing. You would have to be high to think you are going in the first round.

No one can coach heart. If a player has a desire to win he will give his all to achieve it. If he doesn't no amount
of coaching will bring it out.

The manner in which some of our fans disparage our players is disgusting and crosses the line. Being critical of their play is one thing, disparaging them personally is another, which BTW, is an accurate reflection of the lack of class and maturity of the average poster. It happens all the time in this forum.

Scotty worked out for the Knicks a few Sundays back, and didn't even receive a grade which means they don't consider him at all draft worthy.

Hopson had MAYBE 10% chance at guaranteed money next year. I'd say he's around 30% this year.

sorry, but i have to disagree. i just don't think he'll go in the 1st round. i would really be stunned if he does go in the first 30 picks.

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm not saying he will be drafted. I'm saying he'll have a better chance at getting that high draft pick this year than next year, just because of the weak level of this class.

I disagree with you to a certain extent. It's very possible that a player with no heart will quit. He will either get heart or get out. I think the former happens far more often than the latter. Scotty would have been better with better coaching.

I tend to agree with you. However, there were games where Hopson did quit. Most coaches would have allowed him to join them on the bench when that happened. That approach may have greatly helped him, but didn't happen with Pearl.

Agree.

People who want to bash Hopson also conveniently forget about how poorly we played last year when he was out with a sprained ankle.

When next season begins we will see who all still wants Hopson gone.

Uneducated post! Scotty while he has his flaws, his abilities outweigh the negatives. Especially considering we have nothing returning of any count next season. If he had returned we would have been in top 4-6 teams in SEC. Now 7-9 will be more realistic.

Tennessee wasn't going to be one of the six best teams in the league, with or without Hopson.

I know you realize as good as anyone Hat that the SEC is atrocious in basketball. Kentucky, Florida, Vandy Arkansas & Bama. that is clearly the best returning 5 schools. The next 2 I feel with Scotty that could seperate from the others from bottom feeders to put UT in realm of both Mississippi schools. Thankfully without him we wont be LSU, Auburn or S. carolina bad. I do admit I posted 4-6 and should have said 6th with him as i initially forgot about Razorbacks with their nice recruiting class and improvement at coach.

Mississippi State will be considerably better than Tennessee. The same would have been true if Hopson returned to school.

Me too he played poor defense and was very erratic. If he could handle being even a little more disciplined on the court i really think he could have been a great vol but now hes leaving and everyones excited. Dont blame you there.
