Besides targeting the leadership taking them out, you got me. If you can gain the trust of the locals, it makes their job harder...but disrupting the networks is my best guess.

...I typed in one google search last night to read up on washing...that must have been enough when paired with this thread to trigger the ads for me.

Politics and Religion....the 2 subjects you should never discuss with total strangers on an internet chat board. It just never ends well.

Now that i'm sober:)....

Not all muslims are bad.....i mean dude there's 2 billion of them. Unfortunately 500M(give or take a few million) want to kill americans. I'm no math wiz but that's 25%(staggering #'s really). Back to the the OP....i feel they have earned the right to have more than their share of attention from our government. Maybe they wern't doing anything wrong. Better to be safe and say we're sorry than not act on a possible threat and cost another 3 thousand americans their lives.

I'm not arguing that the government shouldn't take actions to keep an eye on those they consider to be risky .... of course, that can always go to far...but I generally don't have a problem with it.

BPV called me out on understating the tacit approval of many Muslims last night, and he was right. I was doing that in a lot of ways because I was countering your argument that all Muslims hated America. There wasn't as much room for nuance....this post allows one more easily to get into the nuance of appropriate response and the difficulty of dealing with this threat (where it is a large population of various levels of feelings for America, ranging from positive to tentative to I want to kill you).

It's just stupid. Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist...he was not Muslim. There are still terrorists in Northern Ireland, they are not Muslim. You are probably someone who has called Bill Ayers a terrorist before...I don't think he is a Muslim.
