That sounds about right, but if conditions worsen I think it could even be higher than than that. It's supposed to be cooler with a lot of wind on Friday and Saturday. In fast conditions with the wind blowing, -3 or -4 could go a long way.

Possible... but I really have a hard time seeing higher than -6 with the quality players playing as well as they are right now. That being said, there are already some big numbers going up out there...

Side bet...Woods shoots sub 70 for the first time ever today in his first round at a Masters today..

There are a ton of big numbers today. AN is taking no prisoners today.... But yeah, Phil bogied 4 thru 7, actually doubled 5....

It was mighty cool out there.

Toms is a darkhorse, if only because I finally quit picking him in our pool. The guy has the long smooth stroke that the talking heads pine for and hits moon rockets for irons.

Plus we'd all enjoy seeing Toms win if for no other reason than that moment when his wife comes running out onto the 18th green.

Big Papa Vol, I read that Phil said that part of the blame for him shooting a 4-over today was because of the wind. How hard is the wind blowing?

It was up to 10-15 at times, but the shape of the land and towering pines makes it nearly impossible to judge at times. That coupled with the exacting nature of the very sloped and very slick greens can make the slightest of miscalc very disastrous. He wasn't the only victim.

I forgot about the pines. Phil said the wind was swirling and that explains it. I hope Phil can recover and turn it around.....he needs to do that just to make the cut:unsure: .
