There were 18 emergency proclamations from Jan - July with all the standard language at the front. They dealt with

Life Flight Accident
Hunger from COVID
Medical transport x4
Deer
Deer again
Deer
Yes, Deer Again
Homelessness x5
Affordable Housing
Uncle Billy's Hotel
Tropical Storm Calvin

Each one, including Uncle Billy's and the Deer started the same way "By the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Hawaii in order to provide relief for disaster damages, losses, and suffering...."

Some people need to learn to read and think for themselves onstead of having Tik Tok influencerd think for them

As a small government proponent, I (we...if you want small government) should be happy they aren't made whole by the federal government. The amount of charity from people all over Hawaii and the continental US will dwarf what the Fed does. And that's the way it should be.

I'm with you. I'm OK with govt providing short term assistance for temp housing, lost medicine, burial costs for the underinsured. Im not for the govt covering any and all expenses that have been incurred. Funny those arguing for more $$$ are supposed to be conservatives...

My point is just calling out the blatant lies that continue to be spread that can be disspelled with a 30 second Google search...

Then you have people like Bill Lee withhold assistance from a city (like he did to Memphis in March and June storms by denying local request for federal disaster declarations) for political reasons...

My problem isn't the $700 or $80k...

My problem is the fart blossoms in Washington trying to tie it to aid for Ukraine.

This is where I draw the line.
