If you are going to give disaster relief, it should be based on need, not how the county voted...

Any argument that TEMA should administer any relief program fell by the wayside when politics was chosen over need...

I 100% agree with you on that. Where we diverge is I'm 100% opposed to the federals stepping in when the state screws it up, the voters should fix the state.

Some people just need to learn to think period. Might be asking a lot though from people who believe what they are told to believe.

What was the Disasters? This was before the fire. It's interesting timing and allows specifically for ways to confiscate lands 3 weeks prior. That's an interesting point if you think it's not, you're as dull as a sandstone rock.

Well in her defense, it sounds like this is a periodic $700 given rather than a one time payment? She mentioned the amount of $41,000 as being the inflation adjusted amount for this year, which makes me think that maybe they are getting weekly, bi-weekly or (heavens forbid) monthly?

You think what people in your echo chamber tell you to think. Heck, they issued 9 disaster declarations for deer over the past 2 years and those even had discussions about land in them. Maybe Bambi got ahold of the space laser and started the fires...

They've got all 18 of the emergency declarations from Jan to July listed on their website. You should read them instead of having a Tik Toker tell you what is in them..

The $41K (max) requires you to apply to FEMA and to show you don't have housing.

There's another $41K for stuff like burial costs, lost medicine, childcare if school is displaced, etc...

The $700 is completely separate from that.

Wait, if it is separate, then the FEMA administrator in the Twitter video above didn't answer the reporter's question. He specifically and directly asked about the $700.

Yes, the $700 is one time. Think money for gas to evacuate/leave and very short-term food budget until you return/find housing.

If you lost your home (and you've applied for FEMA) and you are underinsured, that's when the $41K housing kicks in.

Congress will need to pass legislation to provide more funds than the $700 and $41K...

Congress passed legislation after Katrina, but they didn't after Sandy...

He is right you are staying in your echo chamber, and won't dare challenge your own beliefs by reading the ACTUAL item in question. Easier for you to just sit back and be spoon fed what others want you to believe.
