Yeah, for all the people that defend Jones so fiercely I don't think there are many who would actually put money on him being the guy to take us back to a BCS bowl.
It isn't like Graham had THE secret to how to run the ball. Coaching running backs is about instilling and repeating sound fundamentals. Those principles are basically the same they have been for decades.
That means you wouldn't do it. We can pat him on the back for trying, or whatever, all we want to...but I don't think many people actually think he's the answer if they're honest with themselves.
Way to cherry pick there chief. I don't bet but if I did, the ONLY coach in the country I'd bet in would be, shocker, Saban. And I do think he has a chance to be the answer, honestly. I'll support the guy til he shows me I shouldn't. Not b*tch and gripe about what he is and isn't 24/7 like a lot of guys on this board.
Everyone knows you'll "support him until he proves he sucks" and blah blah. Do you actually think he's taking Tennessee to a BCS bowl?
...maybe it's the guy in charge? I like alot of the stuff Butch Jones says, but you have to wonder when all these guys say their heart is here but choose to go elsewhere as a "business decision"...they've seen this program up close, maybe Jones isn't what we want to believe he is. Maybe there's a reason he can only get mid major coaches or guys no one else wants for his staff (and has to give them huge raises to do so)?Maybe there's a reason he can't sign any of the top recruits who visited? Maybe, when you see things close-up, you see no progress being made.

I'm a little late to the party here, but you have to be kidding me? Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but the fault lies with Dooley. He broke long time relationships with former players, high school coaches, and future players that CBJ couldn't repair in 3 months. We just can't melt down over CJG leaving. I honestly believe the reason was money, less travel in recruiting, and easier academic standards to get players in. Cheek and Hart want us to become the new Harvard and its going to destroy this program if they don't wake up. Hopefully CBJ turns it around, or our top donors see this glaring problem and run booger picker out of here.

LOL
good stuff
I never said he wasn't the answer. But I think warning signs need to be recognized and questions need to be asked. Unlike the Doolovers with their "wait until the first game", "wait until the season's over", "wait until he has all his recruits", etc. silliness, I believe in making evaluations at every step along the way. Otherwise, why even post here?
After a poor recruiting class, an inability to sign any top notch assistants, and now your best recruiter leaving, you have to wonder about Butch Jones' ability to rebuild and compete in the SEC.
Jones should have won at lease One national championship by now. Three months including one month recruiting and this is all we get?
