Maybe the problem isn't with Jay Graham, Tee Martin, Vonn Bell...

25 spots? Really? Based on whose formula? Not ESPN. What does 25 spots matter when you still finish behind Vanderbilt anyway? I get that you use national rankings to try to make it sound more impressive but this is the SEC, national rankings don't mean anything. Dooley could have finished ahead of Kentucky and behind Vanderbilt. Nothing impressive there.

And I love how you guys use the "3 weeks" argument to try to make it seem more impressive too. This staff has been hired for nearly two months before signing day. Are you saying they only spent 3 weeks total working on recruiting? That during the dead period, they didn't do any work on it at all? Maybe that's what the problem was.

I'm saying that they were going against coaches who had had relationships with these recruits for (sometimes) years. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they respected NCAA dead period. I'm tempering my expectations of what I would have liked to have seen against what should be reasonably expectation, considering the time they had to sweep together a class at the last minute.

Moving a recruiting class up about 25 spots in 3 weeks could be seen as a positive by some

I'd say that was discussed by the other ADs that were trying to hire him.

It's was pretty reasonable at the time to say that CDD left the program better than he found it.

That quote was before much of the negative about CDD came out.

My position then, compared to now, proves that I am willing to alter my position as facts present themselves. No?

As he gives me reason to form opinions, they will be formed. That's a pretty radical position, I know.

:good!:

:eek:lol: moved up 25 spots :eek:lol:

I will be inclined to declare them a failure if they don't sign a top 10 class(national) or top 6 (SEC).:hi:

So you already expect this staff to do worse than the lower paid staff that took over an Ole Miss program with lousy facilites and a lengthy tradition of losing?

Interesting...

Well, to be fair, there are many indications that cheating might be in play at Ole Miss. We will know more in 1 or 2 years.

i said dooley would be fired in 2 years, he went 3. if jones proves me wrong i will admit i was wrong, still don't change the fact that i'm not encouraged though. he should have done everything he could to keep jay. i won't be like the dooley lovers who never ate crow.

Because our team was so awesome with Jay Graham here and all...

You keep saying you're not impressed with the staff and yet the staff has actually won previously at both CMU and Cincy. Whose to say they can't win here?

I'll be blunt. Your comments are some of the worst I've seen.

yeah ole Jay was just killing it with recruiting.he is living off having Lattimore at SC but Lattimore was going their regardless and he brought nothing else to SC to replace Lattimore.

...maybe it's the guy in charge? I like alot of the stuff Butch Jones says, but you have to wonder when all these guys say their heart is here but choose to go elsewhere as a "business decision"...they've seen this program up close, maybe Jones isn't what we want to believe he is. Maybe there's a reason he can only get mid major coaches or guys no one else wants for his staff (and has to give them huge raises to do so)?Maybe there's a reason he can't sign any of the top recruits who visited? Maybe, when you see things close-up, you see no progress being made.

Utter nonsense.

It's not like any former Vols who are currently coaching are burning it up. I am behind coach Jones 100%. That's just he way it is.

This fanbase would crucify Him just because of his press conferences.

Prolly. And I gotta say, this VN group pretty closely fits the pattern we saw on the whole Palm Sunday vs following Friday gig. One minute it's all 'crown Him king' and the next it's 'crucify Him'. Sounds familiar, huh?
