Maybe the problem isn't with Jay Graham, Tee Martin, Vonn Bell...

I thought it was crap that Tee didn't come here. However, after Jay's departure, I agree with the OP - I'm beginning to think we hired a complete joker.

"Looks like"...

I'm hiring a system's analyst. You want the job? Your analysis skills are second to none.

Just kidding. They're second to most.

I actually "laughed out loud" at that...some of these people redefine the words silly and reactionary.

Wonder why several of the assistants chose to stay on with Jones from Central Michigan to Cincinnati, and then to U.T.? They must either be a lot dumber than Martin and Graham, or maybe they were just offered more money to change jobs, like Martin and Graham were.

Who exactly has Jay Graham landed here at UT in his tenure to make him such a great recruiter? If you are going to hang a coach that had one month to recruit, how about looking at the guy who couldn't get it done in two years.

...maybe it's the guy in charge? I like alot of the stuff Butch Jones says, but you have to wonder when all these guys say their heart is here but choose to go elsewhere as a "business decision"...they've seen this program up close, maybe Jones isn't what we want to believe he is. Maybe there's a reason he can only get mid major coaches or guys no one else wants for his staff (and has to give them huge raises to do so)?Maybe there's a reason he can't sign any of the top recruits who visited? Maybe, when you see things close-up, you see no progress being made.

You, as an Oregon Duck troll, are as predictable as ever. Don't think I'm gonna take the bait. If I'd paid attention and seen you started the thread I never would have clicked on the link.

But,.... he is....... soooo... intelligent:)

I never said he wasn't the answer. But I think warning signs need to be recognized and questions need to be asked. Unlike the Doolovers with their "wait until the first game", "wait until the season's over", "wait until he has all his recruits", etc. silliness, I believe in making evaluations at every step along the way. Otherwise, why even post here?

After a poor recruiting class, an inability to sign any top notch assistants, and now your best recruiter leaving, you have to wonder about Butch Jones' ability to rebuild and compete in the SEC.

LOL Jay Graham our best recruiter...did you see how many 5 star running backs he pulled? Oh thats right none and he was the only holdover who should have been able to pull one.

jones has been less than impressive so far.

...to you and some other jaded fans. I like what he's done so far and the way he's done it. You've decided you don't like him and the staff he hired and that's that and you may be right in the end. I'll wait to blast him when he actually deserves it.

Good Lord! You base that on what? Just because Tee Martin and JG played here does not make their opinion and actions judge and jury on CBJ. There are a lot of reason why folks make decisions and neither you nor I have the first idea of what makes either of these guys tick.

Quit jumping to conclusions and let the guy coach a season or two before you decide UT football is doomed because 2 guys opted to put $ as their first concern.

Because JG left for more cash and a Recruiting Coordinator title? Or because Tee wanted OC money (or approximately 75-100% more than his peers on staff) to be a position coach? Neither worked out and until I read about how CBJ f'd up either deal from a credible source, I'll believe we got the right guy, especially if he hires an rb coach who can actually land a D1 college running back. Besides, a guy who's moniker includes lovin some Dooley pretty much has no credibility here. No offense chief.

Surely not.

Vol for however long it takes to get a higher paying job..

Must be Dooleys fault

It doesn't seem like people understand that everyone has to make decisions that are best for themselves, not others. If you don't look out for #1, no one else is going to! I wouldn't have made the decisions Kiffin, Martin, Jones & Lord knows Hamilton made, but they were their decisions & I have to respect their right & privilege to make them, regardless of how foolish I think they are/were!

I'm sorry I missed out on this from the beginning

The guys who only come out when there is bad news arrived in full force in this thread

The problem eats his own boogers. And we get the opportunity to FIRE HIM here in April.

So let's FIRE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ultra rich boosters arent paying enough to help the cause -- like that guy that owns all the gas stations -- were profits not up sky high enough this past month ?

Tennessee has problems at multiple levels from the Chancy's office to the AD's office which do not make for good coaching and/or recruiting situations.
