To that point, I got to where I didn't pull for them either. Believe it or not, then Allan Iverson joined the team. At this time he was a veteran but he felt so strongly about representing his country that I felt compelled to be a fan again. Kobe also made a big difference. I think it took losing and embarrassment for the pro players to humble themselves and show a love for country.

I still don't like some of the part time politicians of today. The part time politicians of yesterday I like. Kareem, Ali, Jim Brown, etc. There were real civil rights issues back then unlike the faux issues of the liberals today.

This is good. Womens soccer is literally no where NEAR on the same level as mens soccer. The womens team routinely gets beaten by 15 year old boy teams in scrimmages. Are they good for chicks? Sure. Are they good at soccer as a hole? Nope.

I remember as a teenager referring U-19 girls soccer. Not only did I get to stare at TnA all day, I got to walk while getting paid almost $20 an hour. They were so slow are terrible. It was the easiest job I ever had in my life.

Let's not forget that pay is impacted by economics. How much money does men's soccer generate vs women?

If girls want guys money, go play on a guys team..just like the rest of the women in the world looking for "equal pay".

I cant emphasize how bad womens soccer is compared to their "equal" men counter parts. I'm 40. Give me 2 months of just plain conditioning training, I dont even need to go and work on soccer skills (played for 22 years) and I probably could beat the womens team by myself.


That being said, time for more vodka.

the ruling isnt really about equal pay. They negotiated a contract that differed from the men's contract and in the end they believed it didnt pay as well as the men's contract did and now they're upset.

"The WNT [Women's National Team] rejected an offer to be paid under the same pay-to-play structure as the MNT [Men's National Team] and ... the WNT was willing to forgo higher bonuses for other benefits, such as greater base compensation and the guarantee of a higher number of contracted players," Klausner wrote. "Accordingly, Plaintiffs cannot now retroactively deem their CBA worse than the MNT CBA by reference to what they would have made had they been paid under the MNT's pay-to-play structure when they themselves rejected such a structure."

Do WNBA players make as much as NBA? No and it’s absurd to think they would. Same goes for soccer. It’s all about revenue and money you bring in.

The women need the new contract to be based on revenue because their revenue has been going way up.

In recent years, not much more. If the men do well in the WC, the revenue isn't even close....but they do well in the WC once every 12 years.
