Meyer stepping down

I imagine. I can't see how this helps us. What if someone who actually knows how to coach and not depend on their assistants to run their program step in.

Mullen, Petrino, and Malzan come to mind. I don't know the probability of GM going to Florida, but I can see his offenses with that talent being deadly.

Mullen, is eating at a restaurant in FtLd right now. I'm sure he'll shoot up to Gville in no-time.

Does anyone know why Urban is stepping down? If it's for health reason then I understand but it seems like he just can't take the stress of the SEC. I'm sure being a head coach of an SEC team or even on a staff of an SEC team is extremely taxing but come on Urban. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

my guess (pure guess) is that urban meyer tried to be a different urban meyer and either.....

a) his health was still a problem

or

b) he didn't think the new urban meyer could do the job properly and didn't want to continue to do things half way.

This is hilarious to me, after meyer lost his 3rd game this year I told my friend that he would retire again because he knew his system didn't work in the SEC without a Tebow style guy. When 3rd and 4 isn't automatic anymore he really looks like a clown, grasping at straws and trying to run gimick plays to get a first down. I honestly think it really doesn't matter who they hire right now because the way they have recruited actually leaves them in a hard position at least on offense. While a boatload of extremely talented players are there their styles don't really match up with each other. A pro style QB with fast recievers that have average hands at best, They have not had a real RB in years (jury is still out on the kid they signed last year). They have a pretty good O line I guess. Not to say they can't come together as a team, but no one seems like they are on the same page on that team and it is funny as can be to me. (This post is a product of my opinion and only my opinion after watching several FL games this year)

How would Stoops to UF make you feel? Wouldnt bother me, Id rather face him than Mullen, am I alone?

i wonder who the two you have in mind are.

i am not by the way saying he's the best choice.

i just think that's who will be the choice.

Well, I didn't say two I said one or two and I think I'll just keep my opinion to myself.

Mullen will probably be a good solid coach. I just don't see him dominating the SEC like the old ball coach did.

I agree with you. Stoops is a very good coach but not a great coach. Mullen is unproven (on the scale of big time names), but he has potential to turn into a great coach.

Spurrier wouldn't go back there, he's too old and probably wouldn't want the headache of having to deal with that spoiled rotten fan base.

Also, got to credit Kiffin for this retirement. After one year of listening to K's crap, Meyer was never the same,
