Milton opt out?

Dude this has been the plan all along. lol. Chill out. He didn't "quit on the team" He's stepping out of the way for the future.
The truth is he's trying to claw his way into the NFL and he didn't want the last thing they saw on tape of him to be struggling against a very tough Iowa defense. I saw this coming 100 miles away. Not because he quit on the the team but because he's in self preservation mode 1. Don't get injured 2. Don't look terrible on TV in you last game in college.

Best late Christmas present ever. Gonna be exciting to see a glimpse into the future. Hope Joe kills the combine and gets paid.

I'm really excited about this. I know people think this game matters but it really doesn't except that's it's the perfect chance for Nico to get to play tough competition in a game that doesn't count toward a regular season record. This is the best thing IMO because Milton's career was DOA at TN. I hope Nico tears it up passing and running.

Some people don't know football and it shows. Some of the best NFL QBs were at smaller schools or didn't put up great numbers in College. Just support a VFL that wasn't great in the system but wasn't terrible either.
You’d think people would want as many Vols as possible to go to the NFL.
It helps sell to recruits.

Honestly I don't know how I feel about this...I obviously would like to have Joe in for the experience as the more likely to get the dub, but I'm also excited to get to see the future of Tennessee football play a full game against a good defensive team...I just hope Nico plays lights out so we can all talk all off season about how he's gonna win the Heisman next year
You should be excited. It’s good for the program. But you shouldn’t expect lights out play. This is a true freshmen. I’m excited but I also have patience.

If Milton ever see the field of a real NFL game I'll be surprised. I honestly think he goes undrafted. Theres a lot of QBs in this years draft. It smart of him to opt out because a bad performance will ensure he doesn't get drafted.

And it was all because of arm strength and athleticism. Neither did any better than Milton has done, and Milton has a better arm than either of these two
If you watch the Titans all the announcers have talked about is Levis having a cannon and always going deep.
Yeah someone is going to take him. Too much arm talent to not throw a pick his way late. His Pro Day and Combine could push him up a few spots.

It will be a good win for us if we win. A 3 loss sec team and all losses against sec opponents vs. 2nd place team in big 10 or played in the chamionship of big 10. If big 10 is as good as some think Iowa should be favored to win, and we as the underdogs.
You forgot the Florida loss didn’t you … ? Yep, I wish we all could … 🫤

Maybe I’m crazy, but I do not mind the opting out. Bowl games have no meaning unless you are in the playoffs. They are exhibition games, so this is as good a time as any to experiment and play younger players. Neyland did this, treating bowl games as rewards.

Good hope he don't let the door hit him in the A$$ on way out!! Milton was a Joke!!
lol with a like as well Smdh. Even if you’re at league minimum, would you play and risk a half million dollars? It drives me nuts every one complaining about these opt outs. Since it’s the new thing, I think it makes the bowl games quite exciting giving others the chance to step up. If I was looking at a million dollars and all I had to do to achieve it at a certain point was not play one more game, I’d back away from the National Championship as well. Sucks for us, but I understand is all I’m saying.

Do you watch the NFL? More than half the league trots out total garbage at qb right now.

Mostly due to injury. I’m no scout but I predict Joe will be just that. A back up. He has all of the physical talent but none of the on field decision making. Nothing wrong with carrying a clipboard and making a few million though.

Joe has the physical skills to play in the NFL. He will be a developmental project but most rookies are. Best of luck to Joe Milton. If he had played at a lower level and lit up the stat sheet rather than the SEC (and following Hooker for comparison) the perception might be different. I think he will be a later round draft pick but with a strong combine and senior bowl - it may surprise everyone.
