Missed open throws with receipts

Ok now go back and screenshot every missed throw from Hooker last year. Perfection is not a thing. Joe has missed and will miss throws, but he is our best QB and had a hell of a game today. Made one really bad mistake against UF with the INT but our weaknesses are not because of Joe Milton.
He don't need to be perfect. No qb does, but he is going to have to be better than what grea giving us. Those bubble screens aren't going to be there 20 times a game against SEC opponents and even UTSA about picked one off. It is clear Joe can't throw many other passes in game. You think they'd give him more chances during games like tonight to work on it, but I guess the coaches think they are hiding it.

That and our pass d will cost us some games we should win this season, regardless of everything else.

I would love to know how many drops Hooker had brought the first 3 games of last year compared to what Joe has had.
Closer than I thought it’d be. 11 through 4 games for Hooker and 12 so far for Joe

Also the stats about the uncatchable passes didn’t include today. So it’s actually 24 through 4 games (6 per game) which still isn’t a huge difference especially considering 6 today came after Joe hurt his knee… before that he was almost perfect

Why do people say this type of stuff? I just don’t get so many of our fans. What on earth makes you think he’s the best option? Nobody else has had a chance to play. And truthfully…I believe every other qb on the staff would hit a higher percentage of these throws than Milton. Many of the throws he misses are automatic for even a good highschool qb. Milton just is a good passer of the football. It’s not hard to recognize
Buddy, you are high. Heupel thinks he is the best option and Nico will have his time soon enough.

OVERTHROW JOE!!!! Been saying it ever since he first started a few yrs ago. He is not accurate and when he does he has no touch on the ball. Nobody can tell me he just needs more teaching of how to throw and i can tell you that is BS! If you are in your 5 or 6th season at QB and don't know how to put touch on the ball or are accurate you never will have it. And that is unfortunately Joe Milton!

Haven't heard much about this, but how did the staff miss so badly on Thornton?

He's not helping Milton much, it seems.

DON'T EVER MENTION HOOKERS NAME WIT MILTON.

Hooker was X10000 times more effective and consistent.

Milton can't pass well at all. That's a fact and the numbers support that statement. His down field completion percentage is abysmal. And you can't blame his missed cues yesterday on the oline.

It's a damn shame we couldn't get Nico real playing time yesterday with the ones because we still have no idea what we have with him. Watching Milton against SEC teams us going to be very painful and frustrating.

And what did his coach say in his interview and the next week he didnt do it . Milton has done it for his 6 year career in collage is what it is . He has gotten better and has had some drops But Milton needs to be better . Yall some Dense MOFOs up in here .
Agreed. I'm really sick of people making excuses for Milton.

He's not any good unless he's scrambling a lot like yesterday but his knees look suspect. I think he has knee problems.

That one play yesterday looked pretty brutal. Was surprised he was still able to play. Credit to him, but missing wide open busted plays by the defense is just unacceptable.

Heuepel also thought Milton was better than Hendon freakin Hooker, one of Tennessee's best QBs ever.

Coaches play the wrong players all the time. Heuepel seems to be too loyal to both coaches and certain players and that will be his downfall.

It's absolutely ridiculous that Willy Martinez is still coaching our DBs and that falls on Heupel. He should have demanded that he be fired last year.

Banks is questionable as well.

Joe had like 10 incompletions in a row today at one point. Yes maybe some of those were drops, but he also went on a stretch like that against Florida. The first drive in both games was Heisman worthy, and then those spans when he can’t throw one in the ocean kill any momentum we had. He is baffling.

Yep. Frustrating to miss those TD passes, but Joe is our best option at this point. Hopefully he can start hitting more of them.

I am by no means a Milton defender but the oline is straight garbage and when you have a split second to throw it’s easy to miss open receivers. The interior of the oline is embarrassingly bad for a SEC team

I wish I could agree. That was the worst but he's missed multiple opportunities by being inaccurate with deep throws.
I think Joe trusts his arm to much and not his instincts...HH had passed with more the. 20 yards of air time . usually his receivers were separated and open within that distance...Joe is waiting longer then hurrying a 30 yard throw..Wr are taking longer to get open..and anytime there is more air distance on the throw the less chance of accuracy

Joe looked great until he hurt his leg. Then it looked like the pain management kinda had him thinking too much. Some of you guys will never be happy with Milton. I get it. I was extremely critical of him last week but this week he came out on fire and really only had issues after his leg got injured a little. Chill out.

I agree that he is well down the list of weaknesses, but missing a high percentage of these wide open throws is a weakness for this team.

And it should be crystal clear to this fan base why the coaches have adapted the play calling. They gave Milton numerous opportunities today to hit big plays down the field…and he failed to execute most of the throws despite having a clean pocket and very open receivers.

His accuracy is a problem.

That's not exactly true. Hooker came in and gave a spark. Milton was available the next game but Hooker still started.
Yes. That's what I mean. Would Hooker have been in if Joe didn't get hurt. After he got hurt, Hooker gave us a spark and never relinquished the reins. Would Hooker even had a chance to show us who he is without Joe getting injured? After the injury -Hendon looked like a Heisman candidate. Why was that guy not starting?

He’s thrown 18 uncatchable passes so for (4.5 a game) Hooker threw 53 last year (4.8 a game)
I'm not disputing that stat... but what is the uncatchable ball? Hooker missed many of the wide routes, flat routes, wr screens and overthrew guys or made them get out of position by having to jump to catch a screen and it screwed up the play.I'm more speaking to the homerun shot. The downfield shot with a defender 5-10 yards behind our guy. Did Hooker miss 53 of those last year?

Because he's starting. Because Heupel forgot more about the game than anyone posting in here knows about it. That's why
