Movies you've seen recently II

Glass Onion (Knives Out sequel on Netflix) is pretty entertaining. It started out kinda stupid, but then it picked up. They overdid it again with a southern accent and it bothered me even more this time. Why? So stupid.

Monet’s was worse, imo. Unless you were including it already.

Yeah. That's what I'm saying. It's like they heard the gripes that DC's Louisiana accent was so over the top that they doubled down on that stupidity with Monae's character.

It kinda reminded me of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia how Dee is always trying to throw in accents during their schemes but she's never good at them and they don't fit the situation.

I watched the first one last night with my son and really enjoyed everything except the ridiculous accent. Did you think Glass Onion was better?

The Whale 4/10. Very depressing and the story was lacking. Many people are raving about this film but Brendan Fraser’s performance was the only highlight for me.

Amsterdam 6/10. Great cast, Bale really gives himself up to his role. Margot Robbie is just friggin gorgeous. The story was just lacking.

It was better than I expected (I didn't expect much). I liked that it was loosely based on actual historical events.

Glass Onion was fun. I think I enjoyed it more than the first, and the accents didn't bother me as much. Maybe I'm numb.

I thought Daniel Craig had much better command of the character in this one. And I think I probably am used to and expected the cartoonish nature of his character, so no disappointment. I knew what was coming. Also, I think they wrote some really good lines and almost all of them went to him.

A Man Called Otto. 7/10. A pleasant surprise! Based on a bestselling novel. It's somewhat predictable. Tom Hanks does a great job playing a grumpy old man dealing with grief and the changing world around him. Bring your tissues.

White Noise Netflix, 8
Strange tale. Enjoyable. Adam Driver is usually good. Not disappointed

I watched it because I loved the book. I would think if you havent read it you would absolutely hate the movie. Still wasn't all that impressed. 6/10.

Or just watch the original Swedish film.

I don't know that I have ever thought that a movie was very good after reading the book. Too much change and leaving parts out.
But maybe times have changed.
