Nathan Peterman: The Future

So by saying that do you imply that Crompton had a great career at UT and you hope that Peterman does as well as Crompton? I would say that Crompton was a huge disappointment, given his hype coming in. Kiffin did help him overcome a lot by cutting down his reads to one side of the field. Maybe if he had the same coaching earlier in his time here he could have done a lot more. But to cherry pick his only good year and ignore all the rest and use that as proof of how good he was is misleading.

No i said he had a good SR year. He finally had a coach and oc that believed in him and played to his strengths. Crompton just didnt have it mentally and that was evident early on. But hearing Peterman speak hes very intelligent.

I agree. I think by the time he leaves, he will be the best QB we have had since Tee Martin. I cannot wait to see what he can acomplish.

Right there with you. He just seems to have his head on straight much more than Bray does. Bray has all the talent in the world if he would just put in the mental work.

Ok I'll be "that guy": There is no way I see him passing Worley on the depth chart. If that happens then that tells me more about Worley than it does Peterman. That being said, I'm not trying to throw him under the bus. I think the coaching staff is surprised at how quickly he is picking up the schemes and how well his tools have translated to the practice field. But considering the conference we play in (NFL D-League?) and gametime atmosphere I don't take those comments very seriously. I'm focusing more on Bray and how he's going to lead this offense... If Bray gets hurt again then Worley has to be ready. After all, we may only be a year away from this being "his" team.

I disagree. It will be what Peterman has that Worley doesnt. This will be Petermans team when Bray is done or hurt. Potential wise its not even close. Nathan will pass Worley this year, and much sooner than later.

i'm just glad that there will be a competition for the job.a real comp.,because both woley and peterman have the tools to start.

Posting to get off of post 666....Go Peterman!

Well, it depends. An old math teacher told me there is no such a thing as a complete number. Said that "1" is unique to itself because whenever you count something else whether matter, energy, or even speaking or writing the number itself; it never is exactly the same model as the original. Thus "2" is actually 1.88999 or something like that. So when you post #667, it's still 666 or 666.88999 or something like that.

I told the old coot he was crazy. He asked me how does a mother tell her identical twins. I said, "A mother can see the subtle differences between the two." Says he, "There you go."

Quick! Post #668!

Am I missing something or has he not played a down of ball yet? Where has everyone seem him play against college level competition? I hope he is as good as he is getting pumped to be though. We don't have any high ranked qbs looking at us. At least let him throw a pass before we say he is the next Brett Farve or Aaron Rodgers.

Is there a level of nuance that posters on this site struggle with? Nobody sais he's the next Favre or Rodgers. We said he reminded us of those players. We also never made the assertion that he was ready for college competition. When rivals.com does this with their top 100 every year, do you get your undies in a bunch over that too? They haven't played a down, but T.J. Yeldon reminded them of Darren McFadden and Davante Bourque's style of play was reminiscent of Matt Forte. Gunner Kiel reminded them of Peyton Manning and Texas signee Malcolm Brown reminds them of Warren Sapp. Recognizing potential skill sets in a player isn't the equivalent of saying they're the next...

People are quite quick to attempt to criticize others opinions on this site. Simply posting their own thoughts is seemingly not good enough.

Worley cannot help that he is only 15 and a half years old.

In all fairness we've overhyped every qb since peyton. And I'm including James banks in that group

Agree. I think Bray is good, just need to see him beat some good teams.

I wonder if we have better #2 and 3 qbs than any other team in SEC? I know LSU doesn't have squat behind Mettenburger, and he is much less proven than Bray.

I think Peterman redshirts and Worley is back-up?
Would like to see Peterman on the field. I didn't think Worley played that well behind Bray. He just doesn't have the arm strength that Bray has.

I would hope I didn't hit a situation where I needed to put Peterman in. But I'd do it in a minute if it meant it gave us a better chance to win.

I was more impressed with Worley's high school vids than with this one.

We'll just have to wait and see how they develop.

Sucks that we didn't get a chance to see him in the spring game, as the coaches seem to be raving about him.

"""I've seen the kid play in person. His high school is 10 minutes from my house."""

Aha, so he was tapping your mom, is that what you're saying?

Well, don't forget the high school football is smaller than the one used in college.

Sorry, I just don't believe that he's a better passer than Worley. I doubt very seriously Peterman is more "game ready" right now. If it came right down to it, I would feel less worried about Worley starting any game this season than Peterman and I hope I'm not wrong. Even if Peterman is good he needs time to develop so he can come in when he is ready. Keep in mind I could've made this exact same argument for Worley last year.
