One exception doesn't negate the rule. Florida and LSU are both loaded with 4 and 5 stars and beat the same A&M team you just mentioned.

AL got the brakes beat off them by A&M this year.

Now I get it. You watched, at most, the first quarter of the game. A&M had to intercept Bama in the endzone late in order to preserve a 5 point win. That's hardly "beating the brakes off..."

I would love to have all highly rated players on this team. Although you have to look at things realistically. We are coming off of 3 losing seasons in a row. Right now we need the players in here that the coach feels will fit his system. Also you guys blowing this kid up on being a 3 star also understand that he still has his senior year to go. Not to mention that he is listed as a 4 star on another site.

Also, Bama = reigning BCS champs with a chance to win 3rd in 4 years. So the transitive property would say that Loser = reigning BCS champs with a chance to win 3rd in 4 years.

I guess you can't argue with math.

you also have to take into consideration beyond just the amount of stars. the rivals 250 list includes 4 and 5 star players only. the 250th player is a 4* the same as the 27th player on the list who is the first 4 star. the same theory can be applied to the first 3* player and the last 4* player. on paper that last 4* player looks better but how much better is he than the first 3*, rated one spot overall lower? you also have to take position into account, you will never see a specialist higer than 3* and you generally have your offensive skill positions near the top as opposed to an O-lineman. defensive players seem to be fairly present in the top end as well.

What is wrong with this commitment? I see no problem with it. In state that is rated fairly high.

I am sure he understands that. He just isn't happy with who we got. His opinion matters about as much as yours or mine. Which is very little. I don't see how that translates to him not wanting UT to win.

Looks like Elder was recruiting him to Cincy while he was there. Was this kid considering us at all or even offered before Butch got here?
