Neyland Renovations, what should be next???

1. Urinals instead of troughs in all bathrooms.
2. Remove all bench seating and replace with individual chair backs. Don't give a crap about 100k anymore. Alabama doesn't have it, Florida doesn't have it, etc. I'm sure they can still manage to keep at or above 100k anyway.
3. Jumbotron on both ends
4. Put V O L S back up somewhere!!

This, can't believe these letters only exist on the gameday thread on volnation now.

Put the bleacher seats back to their original width. Tired of 4 seats being 2.5 when a couple heifers plop down. We are not even the biggest stadium in the SEC now, no chance to break any attendance records. Never mind we'll be a part of a game next year seating 160k.

Just gets annoying. I don't care to stand and usually prefer it. But when you've got someone grousing behind you about paying to sit, whatever ailment prevents them from standing, being rude by standing, etc. it's like where would you like me to go? And the fat people get so indignant about it, our last season tickets had 2 on the left end that engulfed our 1st seat, another couple at the other end that would take most of the 4th. So basically 2 seats for 4 normal people. I'd ask the people to move down and they'd get all in a huff. Calling an usher is useless, they can't make the fat people not fat, and they paid for a ticket. It's something that needs to be addressed, this country is certainly not getting any smaller.

Sad, but you would probably have to take this to court before they would adjust the seats properly. It is ridiculous they do not have the seats were if you are above average size, you are taking up two seats.

I solved that exact problem by getting the stadium cushions with my season tickets each year. I actually rarely flip them up to set on the pad, but they keep my 4 seats at 4 seats..(let the thick people impact the ticket holders on the other side of them).

This may not fit in here..

But As a ticket holder under the overhang, I'd like to see our tv display whatever is on the Jumbotron.. Those of us not in site of it miss out on a lot.

UT should do what the airlines do, charge them for 2 seats.

Day cares for small children, (yes they are precious dressed like players and cheerleaders) so they quit climbing all over everyone once they become bored (end of 1st qtr) and so their parents quit getting mad at me for calling the refs, the opposing coaches, and DeBord a C##* S*****g M****@ *#@&*R!! at the top of my lungs in rapid repetition

Im so glad i'm not the only one using that language. i just cant help it, i get so emotionally attached to the game and everyone starts trying to make us lose i mean WTF

This is the approach I have been taking. The seat cushions are the only way to insure you always have a full seat. Especially if you're on the aisle.

Yep... They're well worth the investment if for no other reason than deliniating your territory.

Yeah let's tell multiple proffessors that they will daily have to walk back and forth across the Henley street bridge to get to classes and their offices and see how that goes.

So where were all the engineering students/professors, before that ginormous Engineering building on the Strip and the smaller one by the boathouse get put in???

1.) Debit card acceptance at all concession stands!

2.) Complete the brick façade all the way around the outside of the stadium! End the erector set look once and for all!

3.) Jumbotron at the opposite end of the stadium.

4.) Either fix the damn grass or switch to the new artificial field turf

Yes on 4, you wait and see that field is going to bite us on our a**. Someone is going to get hurt or slip down going in for the winning score on 4th and goal:banghead2:, probably a 9-3 loss to Vandy:thud:

Firstly there is no engineering buildings on the strip. I can only assume you are referring to the Min Kao building which is not on the Strip, since the strip refers to a specific part of Cumberland Avenue not the whole thing. The other building you are talking about is Tickle Engineering. Min Kao mostly consists of classrooms and Tickle is the same. A ton of proffessors have their offices in Dougherty, Perkins, Ferris Hall, and a few in Estabrook. Buildings that are all essentially right next to the stadium. The point is that those buildings serve the main function of the university, which last I checked it education. So maybe suggesting tearing them down so that the view from the river is a little nicer is I'll advised.

G10 was a horrible lack of forsight.
They need to tear down Estabrook and establish an East plaza. No reason to place buildings that close to the stadium. I thought they should build a parking garage directly behind Claxton and turn the parking lot in front of the stadium into green space.

Pretty sure that building is older than the stadium and on the national historic register. I enjoy watching sports but UT is first and foremost a university. Engineering buildings are WAY more important than football.

I say remove all seats in several low level sections around the field and make "Standing Room Only" for those sections. Make the price reflect the fact you don't have a seat and must stand.

Then outlaw the practice of standing continually in all other sections. Escort offenders to the policy to the SRO sections or out of the stadium.

Should also increase overall capacity of Neyland.

Exactly. Estabrook was built in 1898, long before the stadium was even thought of. The fact that people think that football is the only thing that's important on a college campus is a huge problem. And people wonder why the US is behind the rest of the world, yet only want to improve a football stadium instead of bettering educational buildings.

Hubbs recently said Neyland renovations would be the "next big project" on campus. According to the Neyland Stadium master plan on the Tennessee Fund website, the next phase would include the following:

1. Renovation of the south and east concourses, restrooms and concession stands
2. Replacement of Gate 10 ramp with stair towers and additional elevator service
3. Creation of Gate 10 entry plaza

While the current plan would be really nice, I wish they would invest in an entry plaza on the river side. There are some outdated engineering buildings there that could be torn down to make the space. River access is one of the most defining features of Neyland, and yet the view from that side is awful. What do you think?

The only renovations I care about is hanging championship banners.
