Nico leaving?? [NOPE]

Maybe you should look other places. Lots of people reading into his tweets, including my Vol students who isn't a troll.
Why do some have this WEIRD obsession to go all Alan Turing on the tweets of someone they don't know in a creepy attempt to determine what they had for breakfast or if they're changing schools?

Sorry, but this is WEIRD behavior. Folks that do this might want to find a mirror if they're looking for the problem.

He can stay or go don’t care anymore!
I got maybe 10 years left and I ain’t wasting my time on a circus full of media clowns, and spoiled kids. I’m transferring to the lake where at least the fish are constant. Enjoyed these few years on here but the game has no pleasure for me anymore.

Nico is all Vol. He's young and will progress into one of the best to wear Tennessee Orange. He's got at least 2 seasons left and hes already helped us get to the CFP in his 1st year starting. We need to build around him. He needs solid lineman and WR1s to throw to. I believe Brazzell and Matthews are a start and Boo will do work but we need 1 or 2 more. Concepion hasn't committed yet and he is a beast in the slot. If I'm a Vols coach I'm making phone calls today since Squirrel is leaving.

Tee Martin was very, very far from good, let alone very good for the majority of his first year starting . We beat Florida despite Tee Martin, not because of him.
1. We had a Defense of pros
2. Peerless Price at wide receiver
3. OL Veterans
4. Al Wilson Leadership + others
5. Caught Breaks at the right time. Syracuse & Arkansas. Losses of Kansas State and UCLA
6. Tee Martin grew up with the supporting cast.
7. Computer generated rankings for the final game
8. Zero Human Factor in the team Selection.
9. Ohio State should have played Tennessee in the BCS Championship, Not FSU.
10. Tee Martin was good not far from it and grew making him better.
11. Weinke was hurt and FSU played the Red Rooster.

Look up Dunn's stats for the NC. Media promoted him for weeks he had a total of 9 yards.

Just my 2 cents worth. I think the WR coach and OL coach needs to hit the portal!! I like Heupel, but I’m not sure if he’s ever fired anyone ? As John Ward said, It’s Time!! No development with WR ‘s or OL! If he keeps losing to Georgia by 2 TD’s every year , he will be gone!!

I have no idea why you’re so anti Nico. He had little time to throw this year and when he did have time he tended to throw darts. He got better as the year went on. I’m pretty happy with how he played for his first year starting. I guess you’d like another first year starter for us next year.
Some people have no clue what it means to evaluate QB play. Like literally zero and then say ****. The problems with the WRs and OL pass blocking are an enigma to some because they only watch the guy with the ball in his hand. In spite of these factors he had the best freshman year for a QB at this school…ever.

The only holes in his game have been deep ball accuracy and going through progressions (when he actually had time). I expect that to improve if we can get some better receivers in here. And on progressions his improvement from the beginning of year one to the end in reading and going through them improved by leaps and bounds (because it is true he misidentified reads and open receivers early in the year - as almost every first year starter would) but I don’t really consider that a hole anymore. He got much better as the season move forward and he got more experience. He just didn’t have time against the Georgias and Ohio States.

Marcus Mariota, Trevor Lawerence, Tua Tagoviloa, Jalen Hurts, Bryce Young, Josh Dobbs, Tyler Bray, Justin Herbert, Caleb Williams, Justin Fields, Deshaun Watson, Chris Leak, Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, JT Barrett, Jacob Eason, Jake Fromm, and Matt Barkley were all more productive players in either their redshirt/true freshmen years or true sophomore years after playing a small role as true freshmen. Even DJ Lagway is more impressive than him. Stop saying “Nico is a freshman” as if he was in high school this time last year. He started practicing with the team in December of 2022. He’s had a bowl practice, spring ball, an entire offseason, fall camp, a redshirt year while playing mop up duty, another bowl pracice and bowl game, spring practice, an offseason, another fall camp, a full season, and a third year of bowl practice and we’re still wondering how he’s going to be when he steps onto the field next season. Nico was considered “a generational talent” and so far it’s not played out that way. I think it’s safe to say

A: he’s not what we thought he was coming out of HS
B: Josh Heupel isn’t the coach/QB developer we thought he was when we signed Nico
C: a little bit of both
Your list lost credibility when you dropped other Tenn QBs in there. No frosh QB at Tennessee put up better numbers than Nico. Period.

I guess we’ll know in the next few hours unless he’d like to leave in April.

Zero reason to risk injury in off season conditioning or Spring Practice. 12 hours from now we’ll know this was all ********.

You honestly think there are 3 receivers that played the majority of snaps this year that will be drafted? Who?
On the Oline? Mays?…. And who?
Throw out a couple of freshman QBs too …. If you don’t mind. I think it will make for good discussion

Agreed. You basically wrote down everything that I think regarding that team.

There's no need for conditioning if you're going to another school? Why not use off season conditioning no matter where you'll play next season?

Spring Practice, I'll agree. By then you should be up and out if you're leaving

Sort of related, my UGA fan brother-in-law had trouble with Nico’s last name towards the beginning of season and decided to call him “ImaLeaveYa” instead. I rolled my eyes at the time. I really hope he wasn’t right lol.

If he’s leaving then someone is cutting a big check. They’re going to want the their hands on him IMMEDIATELY. He’s either leaving today or he’s not leaving this year.

If he's already got a clear landing spot, I agree.

Rumors are how agents kind of "throw up a trial balloon" to gauge interest. That could be the kind of thing that's happening here or an NIL negotiating tactic rumor or complete BS.

I'm in the BS camp but I think there could be other reasons a rumor surfaces.

Actually, Nico is a sophomore academically and Peyton threw 33 TDs his true 2nd year and was 5th in Heisman. Nico is on his 2nd year has played in 18 games; I think he has a high ceiling
but in Boths 2nd year Peyton was twice the QB Nico is. Its Nicos 2nd year and if he's as good as we hope he will be gone to NFL after next year.
They just started the letting trues play 4 & bowl recently and keep their RS so trying to compare is not =

"Super-sophomore". Remind me how many Tee Martin started?
Tee’s ‘98 stats
153 completions 267 attempts 57.3 completion % 2,164 yds 19 tds 6 ints

Nico’s ‘24
213 completions 334 attempts 2,616 yds 63.8 completion % 19 td 5 int

Which is better? It’s marginal …. But there’s no debating which had the better supporting cast.
