No more Rupp Arena?

My post about Don Haskins was in jest.

I really don’t care if they rename the arena. I’ll hate that building regardless of who it’s named after simply because it’s UK’s home court.
Agree with that take.

But that’s just it...I’m not serious about it.

What UK does with its basketball arena is up to them.

If they decide to rename it, good for them.

If not, good for them too.
Pretty much the way I feel about it.

You made the point earlier that he was obviously not the model to point to in regards to race but he was a great coach.

And without really doing a lot of investigating (which is probably not necessary) Im sure they named the arena after him for the later, and were not promoting his personal feelings on this particular matter as the reason for the honor.

if they only put in half the effort of rebuilding and improving impoverished black communities as they do destroying and bitching about the name of buildings, they could solve all their problems.

I have yet to see a BLM protest in Atlanta and Chicago for murdered black children.... until then, that whole movement is a bunch of ********.

That wasnt the argument but you can make a case for minorities in jail and the ones locked up by ICE. It just looks different now days.

You are very ignorantly attributing racism alone to an observation. I would have much more of a case (and a compelling one that all of us can actually get behind) pointing out to you that those statistics have more to do with a near total collapse of family life in some minority communities, agendas against education for those minority communities, rampant substance abuse, promotion of unproductive lifestyles, and horrifying intolerance as causes.

The reality is you have decided to choose a single factor- white racism- as creating all the problems black people have. That's stupid. First generation African immigrants don't have the same issues. Neither do most Asians, Indians, and many Hispanic communities.

Thats your problem statistic don’t solve the problem or help your case. Shaq has one of highest FG percentages does that make him an excellent shooter No. Stats can be very misleading.

What stat did I share? Your example literally proves my point. There are multiple factors involved in the outcome.

UK actually has little to no say in the issue. Rupp Arena is actually owned by the city. UK just rents it out to play games there.
