Cal should be ranked at 10 and 1 and wins over Bama, Stanford, Auburn, and Arizona. Only loss was by 6 to undefeated Michigan State. Happy for Suarez, she looks like she is having fun playing at Cal.

Suarez has had a few good games this season but she’s far from amazing. Still slow and much more suited to the league she’s in now. Nice combo player but I wouldn’t say she was a huge loss for the program. She was too similar to Puckett and was going to have a hard time getting minutes over her.

I do actually think she was the better ball player of the two but Harper seemed to really favor Puckett’s game.

Whatever the case, that is who she was competing for minutes with and she wasn’t getting them. She had the foot problem that held her back at UT. Glad to see she’s playing well but she isn’t a ground breaking player.

This is by far Cals best team in years, they have a very veteran squad and barring injuries should be a tournament team.

Only hangup for them is they have absolutely no bench. If they have foul trouble or injuries they won’t have a good night.

I’ve watched both play this season and even with the discrepancy in stats it’s still even. Marta wouldn’t be a top 5 or 6 option at Tennessee. I think with the way she’s playing right now Jillian Hollingshead could put up similar numbers at a program like California.
Sara is struggling but I expect her to improve her play soon.
I think it’s due in part to having to adjust to getting fewer opportunities due to playing with better talent.
She seems to be rushing her shots a lot on offense even with wide open looks. I believe seeing her teammates take one or two dribbles to make a move and score has kind of impacted how she’s trying to play in this system.

Sorry. One of my pet peeves. You had discussed three “she’s” in three sentences. I got it from context, but had to reread. You are not the worst offender of this grammar composition efficiency concept, by a wide margin.

It really bothers me when I have to back track three or four posts to figure out who “she” is!

MSST does not play well coached at all. Playing with the lead in the last minute and have fouled twice giving Belmont 5 free throws making it a 1 point game again.

Powe fouled a three point shooter and she hit all three free throws. Just boneheaded basketball.

And never mind the officials have just decided the game. Called a foul on Belmont on a half court heave.

Several terrible calls both ways at the end of this game. Players selling the flop and the officials biting.

Seems like they helped out Ohio State a few weeks ago against Belmont.

MTSU/KState should be a decent game. Going to tune in for that one. Be great if MTSU could pull off an upset. KState is good but I think they’re beatable if you can bother Sundell and make her give up the ball.
