Obama promising 600,000 goverment jobs by summer.

I will gladly pay my taxes to allow somebody to get the care they need. I would just expect the same from my neighbor.

how ridiculous. Expecting anything from your neighbor is a horsecrap notion that has nothing to do with America.

well, if he only accomplished one thing by digging this thread up, it was that it gave the mods a chance to change the title from Hussein to obama.

Am I wrong? The thought of 50% of bankruptcies caused by health care is saddening.

caused by healthcare or healthcare is a part? Also is that the study that was released right before the "debate" and used a 2 year old poll to give the US people the feeling that this was urgent?

Yes, that's what I had in mind. I am definitely too lazy to work and paying for anything is out of the question. You all need to pick up the slack.

while we're arbitrarily picking out expenses that others should be liable for, why I can't I toss in housing? The government clearly believes it to be a right. Why can't it be my right?

If you pay taxes, you can get the health care you need - is there some underlying fear that everyone else in America is getting a free ride?

there is no fear that free rides happen. It's absolute truth. The fear is that the train just got enormously larger and that healthcare costs are now going through the roof because the least efficient organization on earth is going to wade into the middle of meting out care.

The problem with the above idea is that roughly 50% of Americans pay actual taxes, hence the minority gets to pay for the majority. It's OK that you like the idea of free crap for everybody, but let's not try and pretend that it's anything other than another huge step toward a collective economy and the assumption that people are too stupid or too sorry to handle their own affairs.

Ya, don't agree with this. Taxes can be relative, not exempt.

yet the guy you voted for wants more to be put on the people who already pay the bulk and leave the rest alone. It's not like his views are brand new either because he said the same while campaigning

I'm certainly learning quite a bit talking with you guys. The problems in health care have hit home recently - so I apologize if I was ranting. I appreciate your patience. I am still a young man with a lot to learn - but I am glad to do so and hope to make good decisions with my votes in the future.

Hey. Life is a learning experience. No one comes in with all of the answers. Just be patient in learning and especially to listening. And expect some people are difficult. As far as being in here, just roll with it.

If you truly wish to learn, ask LG he has all the answers. :)

In all seriousness we all have our beliefs. Sometimes we agree with each other, sometimes we don't. The important thing is to get as many facts as possible, and develop an opinion and understand why you have that opinion. Blind faith gets us nowhere.

Well said.

we always like new blood in the Politics forum just hope we don't scare you off. Sometimes we get so used to the people that are already here that we don't welcome everybody with open arms (but you sure came in with a bang :)). Stick around and you will learn some things as I do almost every day. Some smart people in here

The gov't will spend millions to deny people coverage? Thats a bit pessimistic.
