Obama stimulus plan

yes the amazing thing is that truefan pays far less of his entire wealth in taxes than do regular high earners because he has inherited weath. i for one think the estate tax should be 90%. of course that would hurt my business quite a bit.

I would punch you in the face for that crazy talk.

So I guess all the teachers, policeman, and firefighters that are "aren't paying their way" don't deserve equal say as the guy who inherited a trust fund?

equal say and equal share are two totally different things

Adresses rather poorly I'm afraid, at least if the title of his opinion is considered. Almost the entire piece is dedicated to what people may be paying in payroll and other taxes. It's a bait and switch. You're suckered into the story with a title about income taxes and run into some guy whining about "but you're not counting their payroll taxes!".

Perhaps if you ever hear it argued that "half of Americans pay no taxes at all" you can rebuff them in good standing. The argument that "half of Americans pay almost no income tax" is demonstrably and irrefutably correct.

most of these people listed are paying quite a bit in taxes and most people with trust funds tax rates are quite low.

gotta disagree with ya one this one...the money has already been taxed once

so? what has that person done to deserve that kind of money? we have to tax someone. personally i'd rather have the person taxed who doesn't do anything to earn the money rather than the one who is working his arse off and getting taxed 40% of his income.

The money has already been taxed when earned. It never needs to be taxed again.

Absolutely.

Unless your making more than 50% of the population makes, you aren't according to some on here.

Curious why you chose things the government is actually supposed to do to pick on.

:eek:k:

Except the post office... what a sham!

10 billion in the hole!

what % of policemen aren't making more than 50% of the population? 0%? edit: t-townbol beat me to it

But was has the person who inherited the money actually done to earn it? The money may have been taxed once already, but the lucky individual who gets it hasn't.

The southeastern United States and small township and rural police forces.

:hi:

I have police officer friends who work for minimum wage.

So I guess all the teachers, policeman, and firefighters that are "aren't paying their way" don't deserve equal say as the guy who inherited a trust fund? It isn't all about money, some of these people that are part of this 2.99% group contribute way more than some of the other elite who are so mistreated. I mean, somebody needs to pick up your trash and deliver your mail, no?

These are not the people that upset conservatives. It's the people who make welfare a way of life.

But was has the person who inherited the money actually done to earn it? The money may have been taxed once already, but the lucky individual who gets it hasn't.

Life's lottery.....

So your parents work their rear end off and somehow the government has to punish you for it?

Yeah, welcome to the land of freedom!

Maybe I spoke too soon. Anybody know what the median (not average...but middle value in the distribution) yearly wage is?

so the government should get it? what have they done to earn it after having hammered it once already?
