I don't know why they would lease it in the first place then. I'm guessing to keep in their backpocket when oil hits $300/bbl and it becomes economically feasible to drill in these places?

No, that is where all the government infrastructure is going......

Wind mills and such that we will be powered by oil.....

They were forced to lease it to explore for oil on it....duh.

Were you wanting me to address that issue? It is the current structure. Does it need modificaton? sure, but I am confident any modifications I might make would not suit most of you because of our general philosophical differences

sound about right. in what other situation in life can you contribute nothing but get equal say as the guy who foots the bill?

yes the amazing thing is that truefan pays far less of his entire wealth in taxes than do regular high earners because he has inherited weath. i for one think the estate tax should be 90%. of course that would hurt my business quite a bit.

So I guess all the teachers, policeman, and firefighters that are "aren't paying their way" don't deserve equal say as the guy who inherited a trust fund? It isn't all about money, some of these people that are part of this 2.99% group contribute way more than some of the other elite who are so mistreated. I mean, somebody needs to pick up your trash and deliver your mail, no?

What the heck does that have to do with how much tax they should pay? What a goofy socialist idealogy that a company should pay more because they aren't offering a certain number of jobs.
