I'm at a loss for words if for some reason he wasn't interested in pursuing Gruden. Like you've said...at least give people the impression you tried. True or false, That leak today was embarrassing beyond words. You made a token call to get rejected? WTF is that? Now multiple writers point out that he's not even the top target? Excuse me?

How in the hell are some people spinning it as a positive?

If he thinks Larry Fedora is the cure for all that aluminum..then...hell I don't even know what to think.

I actually think both of those would be pretty decent hires, especially Strong.

I'm really not upset about not getting Gruden, at least not in the abstract.

I am completely livid over the PR nightmare created by Hart's inability to communicate and absolutely astonished, astounded, and in awe of the reports that Gruden was not pursued by Hart in good faith.

This whole time I was thinking Hart was smart and playing this whole thing well. Now I am getting convinced Hart is a moron, he has no idea what he is doing.

Side note: Why in the hell is Charles Davis not our A.D.? Listening to him, there is not a person alive who loves UT more than he does.

I'm not sure if he is interested in getting involved with that side of the business... but boy he would be great at it! Such a bright man.

He's excellent at what he does now though as well... and I imagine it pays pretty darn good too.

I agree but when Hamilton was fired he said "if momma calls, you listen" He would be great at anything he wanted to do.

Out of this hiring process! Tony Basillio is reporting that we have been turned down by both Gundy and Strong! As I posted on here last week and got chastised, Hart is a buffoon and along with Cheek and DePeitro they are the three stooges. I hope this is wrong but that is what is being reported.

Some idiots claim "the next coach has already been hired'. Then why on earth do you not have him here yet and why allow Strong and Gundy the benefit of belittling your program by publicly declining an offer?

What does Tennessee owe these two guys? Its not like they are former Vols and just trying to help them out or anything. Neither of these guys would give Tennessee the sweat off their balls for crying out loud.

Only those with Orange colored glasses cant see Hart has this thing is in a death spiral...

i agree 100% he should be terminated now and a new AD should make the hire . hart is officially a football idiot, now you know the the reason why he wasn't retained at FSU.

Vol fans should not get their drawers tied in a knot, at least not yet. Gundy and Strong are not the only fish in the sea.

Tressell, Petrino, Fedora, Stoops, and a number of other HCs and even NFL types are possibilities. I don't know about you, but I would rather Hart do a careful search for the right guy than hire the "coolest name" available... you know, like Hamilton did with Dooley.

Now, just take a deep breath, relax, and pray for Hart... that he will make the best hire for our Vols. ><>

Yeah, I'm sure you are so close to the interview process that you are able to make a factual assessment of whether or not Dave Hart is a "bufoon", right? If so, please tell me what he has been saying to prospective coaches?
