All I know is Hart talked in his presses about how he "had a plan". We've been looking for a coach for over 2 weeks now while AU, ARK both have made hires. For the sake of Tenn Football, I hope Hart knows what he's doing but am beginning to have my doubts!

Glad we don't have the au and arky coaches. I'm glad we are taking our time to make a good decision, not one out of desperation. IMHO

i think that hart and saban are strategically trying to infultrate all of the sec schools with their minions so that the programs can be taken down from the inside out and ensure saban many years of NCs even as it gets closer to the point that his incontinence forces him to coach in a diaper or from the s***er. it all makes sense to me, the man is a genius!

he just got turned down by strong and gundy. i think it is time to realize we might as well bring fulmer back. there is nobody left the guy is not a terrible AD he is horrible. right now he is probably looking in a book at MAC and conference usa coaches that may want the job. the guy has proven himself to be a complete idiot and tenn is the laughing stock of college football. anybody that has any faith in this guy good luck because you are setting yourself up to be dissappointed. strong and gundy and fedora should not have been at the top of the list anyway. right now i am sure i could do a better job. i would make the hire and they wouldn't even have to pay me. go out west and hire greg roman he is better than any of the 3 that hart thinks so highly of.

Then it will be too late. Everything about this search has been troublesome. From Hart saying at the press conference that he wasn't sure he was going to fire Dooley until the Vanderbilt game to the two weeks of inaction to starting a search at UT interviewing second tier candidates, bypassing all the top candidates, etc. Hart needs to be fired right now, today, immediately, before we get stuck with another mediocre coach for 3+ years.

If true, I don't quite get how you automatically point the finger at our AD and blame him personally. Did it ever occur to you they didn't WANT the job? That maybe...just maybe they are happy with where they are and just lobbied for more money from their current employer? It's not really Hart's fault in those circumstances. Stop being a slobbering goob and just relax. Hart is doing all he can and we WILL get the best coach that....and this part is very important so pay attention....WANTS TO BE HERE.

I for one like some of Basilio stuff. IMO he was pretty spot on about the Dooley situation and firing him. He does have some good insight sometimes and he's really fun to go to basketball games with from my personal experience. IMO no one has any clue who our next coach will be. Hart has pretty much kept it hush hush so we might as well sit back and see what happens.

i may take in acouple of games at the big house this next year. only hour away from the house. sure don't think i'm gonna drive 7 to watch tennessee lose by 40.lol

Hart is doing a wonderful job. He made a wish list of candidates and he is systematically going down his list.

If a coach is not interested in U.T., it is not his fault. If a coach acts like he is interested in U.T. but is using U.T. to get a raise at his current job, that is not Hart's fault.

Hart will continue to interview candidates and we will end up with the last person on our list of candidates.

Again, no one who is at a major university wants the U.T. job. It would be a lateral move for Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Florida State, Miami to take this job. Plus, we have a bad recruiting state, whereas Florida has alot of talent and Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State get recruits from Texas..

We will end up with a lower level coach. Most likely, the coach at Cincinnati. To him, the U.T. job would be career progression.......

If the job is just to sign a coach who already wants to be here, then any of us could do it. Do you think Saban was begging for the Alabama job? Do you think Urban Meyer was calling up Jeremy Foley and asking for the Florida job while his "dream job" at Notre Dame came available? Do you think Bielema just really wants to live in Arkansas and face tougher competition? No. Those guys had to be wooed. They had to be recruited and they had to be promised all sorts of money and incentives. Hart's job is to get us the best guy possible and it doesn't appear like he's doing much at all to make that happen.

Just not true. It was exactly the same. We were publicly turned down by a number of coaches. After Mushchamp rejected our offer, he referred Hamilton to Dooley. Dooley was not a cool name - no one knew who he was.

You obviously don't understand the "process". 1. A coach shows interest in a job. 2. if there's mutual interest he's then interviewed, 3. If the job IS offered there is "usually" a counter offer by the school which currently employs that coach. Sorry...but this takes time to sort out. Very rarely does an interview and job acceptance happen in one meeting. It's a process. It's simply not as easy and clear cut as some people like to think.

I believe Hart will get us the best coach he can. He like having a job and getting paid very well. I think he thought Jimbo Fisher would come and Fisher backed out.
No proof just my reaction to the current redirection. I think Strong will be able to recruit very well with Tennessee facilities and academic situation corrections.

I'm not ready to call for Hart's head yet, but we really need to make a hire. The list is only getting shorter and we are only getting farther behind on recruiting. The right coach could sway some good guys our way and possibly convince Hunter or Patterson to stay. The emphasis is on making the right hire, not the quick hire of course.
I guess what I'm saying is that Hart needs to take his time and hurry up.

Strikes out with Strong and Fedora stays should there be serious consideration to firing him? I don't think there can be any logical explanation other then Hart flat out dropping the ball.

is it good to get turned down by anyone, NO
but he's in no worse of a position than Jeff Long was at Arkansas

So it all comes down to who Hart actually hires
