Official "eat crow" because Butch was hired here thread

Thanks and the positive posters on here aren't trying to get anyone to jump on board before they're ready...if they ever are..the tiffs on here usually occur when someone who hasn't bought in mocks fans that are excited about what Butch has done so far...we're not idiots...we know success is proven on the field...we just want to do our waiting and seeing with a smile on our faces

Can't say i disagree with your post on this, ...,

Might say i have moved to

Hey all... been away for a while. I believed the Gruden hype hook, line and sinker. I liked the Kiffin hire and was satisfied with the Dooley hire so as you can guess, when CBJ was hired I refused to buy in to him and was disappointed that we 'settled'. Fast forward to today, and I'm very impressed with CBJ. (Not that my opinion matters.) He's promoted the great Tradition of Tennessee, he's created a family atmosphere that's been lacking, he's embraced this young generation (social media outlets for example) and proven to me he can recruit. The last and most important proving ground won't happen until the fall. So, I'm not ready to eat crow just yet but will be more than happy to if he can bring my VOLS back to the top! #VFL

Yes I think the guy was done wrong. 2.5 seasons to get it done with the mess UT was in is ridiculous expectations. Have no problems with cbj and hoping he does great cause that means UT is doing great. But if this fan base doesn't learn to simmer its expectations some cbj could face the same fate. That's what I've been trying to say. Like it or not. Understand or not. Is what it is.

Btw - its been stated by, deerpark iirc (whomever the poster is that is in the AD), that the coaches would be levied with Bray after games cause he would change plays and not do what they wanted him to. This would affect the gameplan immensely. Never said dooley didn't have his bad moments but knowing this I can't judge the guy as a bad gameplanner. Imo

Also, the call at the end of the Mizzou game to many was a bad one. To me it wasn't. At first I was upset when I saw him kill the clock but after a second of wondering what he was thinking I figured it out. He confirmed in his presser what I thought was the reason too. The guy is a lot smarter than people think he is imo.

So beating Kentucky and Vandy on a consistent basis is too high of an expectation?

Prepare for a response filled with ambiguous abbreviations, intentional misspellings, sentance fragments, poor puntuation, and indiscernible half-truths, which will rival War and Peace in length.

Ok, I've got my smoking jacket and reading glasses on.

He isn't 0-0. So far he has done everything right. It's not like we don't have a body of work to judge his coaching abilities.

Ill take my Big Mac now.

That ain't the argument. He has done, wonderful and great to date. But you can't crown him a success yet. That's all. He's on the right track.

You want fries with that (says the UF grad)?

You can't call him successful? Cause of the tasks he's performed to date, I'd have to disagree. I haven't seen anything making him unsuccessful as the head coach at Tennessee. He hasn't had the opportunity to coach a game yet, so you can't judge him on that. Even though some are. Which I don't get.

And again misunderstand the point. The thread title is eat crow before one game is coached. The same crap happened before. All I am saying I ain't crowning anyone yet.

And again, title says nothing about coaching a game. The original post stated "My lone worry was recruiting. I knew recruiting to UT, was different that Cincy, and that if he was good, we would see the results. Well, he has blown past my best expectations in a little over three months."

Again, I still don't see anybody placing a crown on anybody. But I guess the thread couldn't go this long if we didn't argue that point.

We're actually saying the same things on his to date performance. I'll leave it that.
