Well I changed out the magnetron in the microwave and I didn’t die. I think I’ll call it a day after that. My Fluke 175 did its duty in making sure the 4kV high voltage circuit was discharged. The transformer secondary should discharge the cap anyway but if there is a fault and the cap is open circuit it can retain very high and dangerous voltages.

PSA of the day!!

Be sure to change out the flux capacitor.

Lol. Well when the power is disconnected at least the flux capacitor can’t be over around 2kV since the doubler circuit isn’t active. But if the bleed resistor inside the cap has failed it’s guaranteed to ruin your day if you get across it. Microwave ovens are actually fairly dangerous when the enclosure is opened just like the fly back circuit on old school CRT TVs were.

Good job, but you should have had your phone in movie mode and rolling so we could have watched you get zapped big time if you did it wrong.

I used the "Bo Peep" stick to troubleshoot the transmitter section of a radar once. Couldn't pin down the problem so I, cheated the interlock and automatic grounding bars that come down when you open the cabinet, just turned it on, and worked backwards from where I knew there was no high voltage until I got a nice arc that shut it down. Turns out one of those tubes a foot or two high had a bad socket that I found once I knew where to look. Fixed that and it worked like a charm. Even using a big grounding rod with a lot of insulation on the handle felt a bit risky, but just wasn't about to let that radar beat me. I'd already changed the tube because it looked to be the problem which really confused the issue. Arcs in a transmitter section look pretty impressive at night - seems like that particular section was something like 40 KV.

You know, it's funny...

Rattler is having the same problems in USCe that he did in Norman. His O line isn't protecting him like they should.

One has to wonder if they are intentionally playing a little loose hoping he gets creamed in order to get his backup in. He's the most sacked QB in CFB right now averaging five per game. Nobody has an O line that bad.

@UT_Dutchman

thanks for having us out! Sorry we didn't get to stick around long enough to fully enjoy the tailgate, but all four of us enjoyed it.
Louder, you guys are more than welcome, very good to meet you all as well. If you are coming in for anymore games you have my number. What a great game!

our OL looked so much better with Mays back. let’s hope it continues.
Herring needs to be replaced as a stater. Look so much better but will it translate on the road.
