Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

How do you know that without even seeing which teams make it to the CWS yet? Don't they re-seed based on the 8 teams that make it? In other words, if Oregon State beat Kentucky in the Super Regionals, they don't grab Kentucky's #2 overall seeding spot in the CWS do they?
no reseeding at any level in the regionals, supers, or CWS.

CWS - There are basically two 4-team double elimination tournaments (1-8-4-5 seeds and 2-7-3-6 seeds) with the winners of the two mini tourneys play each other in a best of three championship series. Teams do not cross bracket when they drop to the 0-1 aka losers bracket.

If Oregon St beats kensucky then OSU is in the 2 seed line of the bracket. If Evansville beats the BaseVols, they end up in the 1 seed line.

This is from last year's CWS.... BaseVols were a 2 seed in a Regional (clemson National seed 4) so they ended up in the 4 seed line.

Wish I was about 8yo circa 1985....all I need is a red Solo cup and all day catching crawdads and playing in that crick with my cousins. Pappaw and Granny grilling burgers and dogs for lunch. Better than any day I have ever had at any beach. Priceless.

So my wife left me at Walmart this morning. We took her car so when we got there this morning after breakfast I told her I had to take an Alabama then I was going to sporting goods, call me when you’re ready to check out.

After awhile I’m thinking “good grief she’s gotta be about done” so I call and no answer. Walk around the store looking for her, nothing. Call, call and finally she answers and tells me that she’ll be home in a minute.

Sounds like something my wife might have done. The only solution I found was you drive and she doesn't have a car key. I used to spend more time in stores hunting for the wife than looking at stuff. One minute she was there and then next disappeared. Got better with cellphones - you can text or call and say "WTH are you?". Of course when you get to that area she's moved on. Ever wonder if they are all like that or we just got "lucky"?

Had my personal info hacked from a third party database. I never even heard of this company yet somehow they had all my med records. They were hacked in Feb and just let us know this week. I was part of the Experian hack years ago and got like 5 years of IT monitoring, and this latest incident is offering 5 years, I guess I will roll it over somehow. The irony of a credit bureau that monitors credit leading to potential credit fraud is ironic to say the least. There is already a Hippa CAL filed 2 days ago.

The consumer is really screwed on this stuff and happens way too often. A whole industry has been created to cover the incompetence.

Until CEOs face some jail time, it's not going to change. When the personal penalty gets personal enough and tough enough, some of the decision makers will decide they shouldn't be playing Big Brother; until then, it's just a cost of doing business that the shareholder and/or consumer covers.

so badass

That didn't seem right; it was a digital simulation. A couple of Swedish fighters did intercept an SR-71 with one engine out, and escorted them to safer space. The US awarded the Swedish pilots Air Medals for their support

Finally declassified: Swedish pilots awarded US Air Medals for saving SR-71 spy plane

The SR-71 was an amazing plane. The ones based at Kadena, Okinawa were in hangers between the runway overruns and easy to spot from the highway between the base and the sea. I really liked driving that way to one of the sites because there was almost always something landing or taking off, but I can only remember seeing an SR-71 in the air a couple of times. The "Habu" name came from a nasty (and supposedly aggressive) black poisonous snake found on Okinawa.
