Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

The crying has begun. Part of me wants Bama to make the playoffs as the 12 seed. Then wreck an overrated Big10 team just like UT, UGA, and probably texas are gonna do. So tired of the bullcrap. These overrated Big10 teams that have beaten literally NOBODY like Indiana, PSU, and to a lesser extent OSU are all ranked higher than they should be. Notre Dame being ranked in the top5 is an ABOMINATION. Maybe if the SEC teams just wipe them all out of the playoffs immediately, qe wont have to deal with this bullcrap next season. We are almost certainly gonna have to go play a road game AT one of these schools in the 1st round PRECISELY because the Big10 teams and ND play absolutely nobody all season long and are overrated because they dont have losses. Absolute bullcrap.

Cant wait til the final playoff rankings come out Sunday and then vegas gets to weigh in on monday as to who has the best football teams. Vegas has $$$ $kin in the game and cannot get caught up in this nonsense.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Fanduel projects Ohio State over Tennessee BY 9 POINTS !! The same team that just lost to 21 point underdogs Michigan 3 days ago!!

a barnes team with a consistent offense is going to be scary to face.

Might be the best defensive coach in the game, and most demanding. Barnes doesnt care if you're a 20ppg guy...if you can't play good defense then you sit the bench. Unfortunately we have had teams that would have games where we couldnt buy a bucket...as if the ball didnt fit thru the hoop. We have won plenty of games shooting in the 30 to 40% range from the field. Even last years team, on the couple nights Knecht was off had serious issues just getting a basket from time to time. There were lots of games where he was the only guy to score double digit points. If this team can consistently score, this might be the year. Nobody in the country is as good as we are in the big 3 sports baseball, Bball, and football. The SEC is loaded this season in basketball though.

These are the only commits who haven't signed yet, by my count.

Only guys that havent already signed this morning. Top 50 Dline Isaiah Campbell announces at 430pm today. Also..

As much as i have raves about this 25 class...which i think is underrated despite being a top10 class...I have been focused on how talented and deep (twss) it is on defense. This class is LOADED at Dline, LB, and solid at DBs. We beat out UGA and Bama for our Dline guys AND 2 extremely talented LBs in Harmon and Gass...with a 3rd LB in Perlotte now predicted to flip to us from USC. All are solid 4* guys that the UGA/Bamas of the world covet greatly.

I didnt realize how well we did on offense. Sanders is the #1 Oline in the country. We have a couple 4* interior Oline guys too. We landed 2 out of the top 10 TEs in the nation in 4* Brahme and 4* Van Dorselayer. Bigtime TEs that can both fly and catch. Not just blockers. We have 3 great WRs in Smith, Jackson, and Dodson. Better WR class even than 2024 IMO with Matthews and Staley. Coach Pope is ecstatic over this haul at receiver. We got 2 good RBs in Baker and Morris. Both are smaller backs like Sampson, but they are both very fast and shifty...like Sampson. Baker will probably be RB3 next season as a freshman. Especially if we have a RB hit the portal, and Seldon and the big kid from Kentucky may both leave. This class isnt quite as deep on the offensive side, but we landed bigtime players that our toughest rivals REALLY wanted on both sides of the ball. So excited about this class.

A proud peacock today is a feather duster tomorrow." ~ Rick Barnes moments after his Tennessee team responded to a big road win with a bad home loss.

Lolol. Thats the Hogg kid in the foreground (seriously) from the flarda school shooting way back when. When he got "famous" for doing absolutely nothing different than any other kid who hid in the school until it was over. I would elaborate, but not in this thread.

Finally. Top 50 player overall. Highest rated in the class besides Sanders. We DID end up flipping 4*LB Perlotte, 3*/4* Safety Merritt both today. Everyone has now signed except Sanders (Wiltfong says not to worry, hes a VOL) and 4* CB Koninbanny who will not sign today but may still end up here. We managed to move UP with the additions of Campbell, Perlotte, and Merritt despite losing Shaedy which would have been our 3rd highest ranked recruit. Very good signing day IMO. 20+ expected early enrollees to start practicing with the team soon.

The Scout

“Isaiah Campbell is one of the most athletic defensive linemen in the 2025 cycle. He just has outstanding play speed and twitch and first-step quickness. You see that show up on Friday nights with consistency. He is one of the top interior pass rushers in this cycle. He makes a ton of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Moves at a different speed than a lot of top defensive-line prospects. He has good length and a big frame. I think he has the frame to add a bunch more weight once he gets into the Tennessee strength and conditioning program. I think where he ends up from a size perspective might dictate how he will be used positionally. I think he is likely a best fit as a pass-rushing three technique that can create a lot of mismatches on passing downs and use his speed and quickness to shoot gaps and make plays beyond the line of scrimmage. I think the effort level is outstanding. You see him consistently show up and make plays. I think the physicality is there as well. A good bit of versatility. Could even see a scenario where he plays as a big defensive end at times. Big recruiting win for Tennessee. A guy that we have been high on the whole cycle and has been inside the top 50 the whole time.”– On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power

What does Campbell’s commitment mean for Tennessee

This is a massive get for the Vols. They scraped and clawed in this recruitment for months after Campbell committed to Clemson, and while North Carolina made it interesting until firing Mack Brown, Tennessee was able to win out in the end.

Campbell has an immensely high ceiling with plenty of room to grow and develop in Tennessee’s defensive line room. He gets after the quarterback and makes plays beyond the line of scrimmage and bolsters an already strong group in the 2025 class. His presence as a pass-rusher is something Tennessee can turn to for years to come most likely.

^^^ this is why Campbell is the #2 ranked Dlineman in the country. He isnt another Edge...those are great though. Hes 270lbs in HS with very little body fat. Hes gonna be a DTackle like Omar Norman Lott with exceptional quickness. ONL had 2 sacks vs Bama because he was so much quicker than their Olinemen. He was a great portal grab. We are getting this dude straight outta HS and Garner should have him for at least 3 years. He will play immediately next year. HUGE get to flip him from Clemson. When Sanders signs, we will have signed the #1 Olineman and #2 Dlineman in the country. Difference makers. 3 year starter kind of guys. Love it.

The Hype needs to up his recruiting game.

Any class could always be better, but this class is the 2nd best class ever signed at UT in combined score (280?).

It sucks to see that all Flarda has to do is announce that their coach gets 1 more year without being fired and they finish so strong that they will be right behind us. Insane how easy it is to recruit down there. GA and LA are the same honestly. A terrible coach like Kelly at LSU can still land top 10 classes with 2/3 of his class being in state kids...
