On MIT_Beaver, I don't know what info he has, I have no clue who we hire, but I do believe his intent is to see UT aim high with this hire.

On the protected account...again, if your goal is to influence the process, which is a more effective option:

1)Tweet to a limited audience on a new account. If people want to read it, they just follow you and read it.

2)Use social media as an amplifier that goes to 11. Keep the account protected, knowing that people will copy and past your seemingly exclusive tweets all over the VN universe. They do the work for you.

Easy choice. Beaver knows what he is doing.

I am still in shock over how today unfolded.

I don’t see any way to have a positive outcome at the end of today’s events. Currie is a moron, Schiano loses his job possibly, Gruden realizes we are a dumpster fire, university looks awfully incompetent, and we scare away any other coach who might be a good hire. Honestly, worst case scenario all around. How could this be Currie going rogue? I’m so confused.

Good summary. It was a sad day for Tennessee fans for sure. Hard to figure.

About “insiders” info. Let’s get something straight. They offer that stuff up for attention and insider status. Maybe they want to let us know what they know, but mostly they like attention. We don’t go seeking them out and interrogating them. They offer it up. And we like giving them attention because we want to know what they know. But when your info is exactly the opposite of what actually happens then you have no right to be upset when others question you. And I guess the rest of us shouldn’t get mad about putting our trust into anonymous posters who day by day say the most cryptic things I’ve ever heard in my entire life and never say anything flat out and in plain English. But I’m the end I hope we all want to see this program restored story it’s former glory. With that said I’m gonna find something more productive to do with my time from now on, so I will GTFO. Knuck you have my email and if it turns out that I owe you then I will be there. If not I may bring it to you anyway.

Trust me. We don't seek attention. If I did I would tell everyone my name, which you know. The people who brought this info truly believe and trust where got the info from. I posted this the day Butch was fired, when Currie said he wouldn't be using a search firm. There's only 3 reasons you don't hire a search firm....

1. You are planning to promote from within
2. You already know who you're hiring
3. You are so arrogant as a hiring manager that you think you can do it without help

We all thought it was #2, but clearly it was #3.

Must have been number 1. He realized half way through the Vandy game that his Hoke idea wasn’t going to cut it and jumped up and out the door.

Too late then. That’s why he did not need a search firm.

Here's the far more likely and actual story.

Gruden offered a good offer. Gruden declined. Mullen was the back up, he said no once Florida didn't land Kelly or Frost. He wanted to go back there. Currie panicked and blew UT football into the stone age.

Agree with letting Currie know he screwed up; we should also be letting the Chancellor know she better get things in order ASAP. This includes signing the d*mn Gruden contract. Knucks post put in question the signing by the UT AD. Unbelievable!

NO, Davenport is every bit as responsible as Currie. Currie said he would be talking with Davenport every day about the search/hire, so she had to know or at least should have known and could have stopped it. She is either complicit or negligent. Either way, she has to go.
