Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIII

Don't Judge me!!! :eek:hmy::eek:hmy:

Here's another thought while I'm still 3 pages behind. If fans wanted Gruden to come to Tennessee before learning of Haslam's back stab with Schiano, why would the back stab make people go out on getting Gruden? Shouldn't we demand Gruden even louder? It's not like Haslam's move magically made Gruden a bad coach in a matter of hours.

Food for thought.

You really need to accept the fact that Jon Gruden will never coach a day at UT. Whether he shunned us or Currie shunned him...its not repairable. This dream is officially over...

Seriously guys, we know nothing. Currie was operating as a lone wolf, it appears no one, except maybe Haslam, knew nothing and smoke was being cast over us w fake news. We can only hope that VOL (all of you) will be hrleard...and it appears we are being heard! Please don't pose nasty words towards our insider info, it appears they were mislead as we were. Still a believer in Atlanta. Boro, Exile, and Bev...were in this together.

I can guess who drafted the MOU, or at least laid eyes on it, and based on my limited professional interactions with that person, that person wouldn't leave a door like that open unless that person was told to do it.

Or, they fully intended for the document to be legally binding, and for Greg Schiano to be officially hired as the next HBC of the University of Tennessee.

Will you now? Lol, good luck with that. I'm not saying we are hiring Gruden...i have no clue what is going on there. I can tell you I know a Psychological campaign when I see one. We were targeting Mullen. We were targeting Schiano. Notice only people ever mentioned have been Sexton clients? Why? He is trying to force something. Hell you even have people turning against Gruden at this point. The info has to be coming from his side is all I am saying. There is an agenda behind it as well. Could it be UT has said they will not deal with him anymore? Who knows. But just let this play out. And know who your puppet master is right now. Easiest way to beat this stuff. If the other side of things is smart they will begin leaking information like a sieve over the next couple of days and make Sexton and his look like a fool, while they look like damn heros
Excellent analysis.

I would dearly love to hear Atlanta Vol explain what he knew as this all played out, and why he believed we were getting a coach we would really appreciate.

Everyone else--Beav, Bubba, Tuesday, everyone else who claimed any inside access at all--I can write off as a troll or attention-seeking liar (or a duped friend of one of those). But I'd really like to hear from Atlanta Vol.

Serious question.

I've been off VN several hours so it is impossible to scroll through this thread and find any reference to the latest thoughts on where a Gruden offer stands in all this. Has it been said that he formally turned us down? How did we get from active discussions w Gruden to an MOU with Schiano?

Sorry if this has been covered already, I just can't find it. Terrible day to be a Vol.

There has been zero info about Gruden come out since the Schiano **** hit the fan. There are still believers and some like me, with a little hope left. Hopefully Currie is gone when I wake up.

The House of Haslam is a damn embarrassment to UT and my Vols. All the money in the world can't teach you about making good coaching hires.

It's a GREAT day to be a VOL! We shut down a filthy stinking hire and likely sent Currie packing as well. VN will not settle for this crap.

If Davenport did not know, she should have. Currie said he would talk to her every day about the coaching situation. She MUST be held accountable along with Currie. The cancer has to be cut out.

Guys, we all have to wait and see what happens. We have to wait and see how UT and the AD responds. We have to stop throwing rocks and pointing fingers at the Haslam’s. The truth is... NO ONE ON HERE KNOWS THE TRUTH. People are grasping and looking for someone to blame, and since they’re one of the biggest boosters; people immediately look at them to blame. The same thing happened in 2012.

Don’t believe anyone who’s trying to blow smoke and tell you this was all about a shift in power. That’s outrageous! The exact same claims were stated many times in 2012. When people begin to worry and, moreso, worry about their credibility being questioned, they’ll start trying to pass blame at anything they can.

I’m as frustrated as anyone. Don’t let people fool you. The fact is, we’re all emotionally invested and it’s easier in these times, than ever before, to be tricked into believing frauds. Hence confirmation bias and emotional reasoning.

Ah here comes the damage control. “We didn’t know!” BS

If the AD and Currie had a brain or even took 2 seconds to do a google search like my 8yr old daughter can do, they would know this is not the right guy for the job.

It's not really damage control. Adams basically called him stupid and said he might want to at least Google the name of a coach before rushing off to hire him.
