If we owe Schiano $20 million then she HAD to have known and signed off... Currie didn't just up and go spend millions of university dollars of his own accord. There would be a minimum of 3 signatures on that MOU.

I've been off VN several hours so it is impossible to scroll through this thread and find any reference to the latest thoughts on where a Gruden offer stands in all this. Has it been said that he formally turned us down? How did we get from active discussions w Gruden to an MOU with Schiano?

Sorry if this has been covered already, I just can't find it. Terrible day to be a Vol.

Summary: Right now, no one seems to know anything. All speculation. Currie, Davenport and maybe Haslams were the only people who really knew what was going down. ALL should be held accountable.

I’ll say this. I truly have zero clue what has happened. Like I said before, i haven’t heard any new info for about 10-14 days. However, some of my friends are former players. They all are shocked and pissed based off of what they knew. They feel like Currie lied and they were played.

Secondly, a few friends that are in the coaching profession and have zero ties to UT, heard nuggets of info about Gruden.

I’m shocked that this is happening. I didn’t even post most of the good comments that were made to me.

I’m hoping to find out what happened soon.

If you hate me, fine. I never mislead though. There would have to be a giant grand conspiracy if all the info was lies.

DTO, I have no clue what happened either. I'm just as confused as everyone else. This was totally out of left field and unexpected and nobody saw this coming.

Seriously guys, we know nothing. Currie was operating as a lone wolf, it appears no one, except maybe Haslam, knew nothing and smoke was being cast over us w fake news. We can only hope that VOL (all of you) will be hrleard...and it appears we are being heard! Please don't pose nasty words towards our insider info, it appears they were mislead as we were. Still a believer in Atlanta. Boro, Exile,and Bev...were in this together.

Guys, we all have to wait and see what happens. We have to wait and see how UT and the AD responds. We have to stop throwing rocks and pointing fingers at the Haslam’s. The truth is... NO ONE ON HERE KNOWS THE TRUTH. People are grasping and looking for someone to blame, and since they’re one of the biggest boosters; people immediately look at them to blame. The same thing happened in 2012.

Don’t believe anyone who’s trying to blow smoke and tell you this was all about a shift in power. That’s outrageous! The exact same claims were stated many times in 2012. When people begin to worry and, moreso, worry about their credibility being questioned, they’ll start trying to pass blame at anything they can.

I’m as frustrated as anyone. Don’t let people fool you. The fact is, we’re all emotionally invested and it’s easier in these times, than ever before, to be tricked into believe frauds. Hence confirmation bias and emotional reasoning.

Quit beating this dead horse. I’m not mad at anyone for coming forward with info, but it’s time that people come to terms with their “sources” being a load of BS. It may have not even been intentional but it is what it is. We just tried to hire shiano but we’re saved by us threatening to turn Tennessee into scorched earth. Gruden is obviously not an option. Let’s move on and find the next coach that can possibly pack this circus up.

Exile you have to consider the facts. You have likely posted more in this thread than anyone about it being done and I for one hope you’re right. My belief in JG is why I’m still in here.

But, you can’t deny what went down today. Me personally, I wouldn’t be so quick to point someone to the Les thread.

At this time you have nothing to back up your claim JG is a done deal. If you are confident in your sources then sit back and wait for it to unfold. The truth will eventually come out.

I’m still in till I see otherwise and am praying you’re right. I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss someone offering an alternative.

I have exactly as much as I had when I first said it. Gruden signed. And if someone wants to start discussing in the GRUDEN thread reasons why they think Les Miles is a good option for Tennessee, I reserve the right to suggest that conversation should be had in the appropriate theead not related to Jon Gruden.

It's not like I've been out here calling people frauds or liars or naive fools or any of the other things that I've seen tossed around on this thread today. Just suggesting that discussion of Les Miles' merits be conducted elsewhere.

I think in this search we all had at least some low degree of separation info. Some chose to share and some didn’t in case that information was wrong.

After 2012 I learned the difference between information from facts. It can be extremely blurry when it comes from those you trust.

I honestly think that Currie doesn't mind taking licks. I think everyone is behind closed doors trying to save face for the Haslams. They have a lot more to lose than Currie simply losing his job. This whole fiasco could have simply been Haslam telling Davenport and Currie to go hire CGS and don't give them any lip. Of course, Currie could have refused, but the Haslams may have been responsible for his hire in the first place. We don't know who to blame yet.
