Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Cards win it 11-3. Sadly, Pujols might have put a couple Padres players on the DL. Not sure how bad the injuries are, but both looked bad.

Looper didn't look good, but somehow he lasted 5 innings to get the win. The offense pumping out 16 hits didn't hurt any.

Looper (W, 6-3): 5 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Schumaker: 4-for-5, 2 R
Miles: 3-for-6, 2 R
Pujols: 1-for-5, R
Ludwick: 1-for-5, R, 3 RBI
Glaus: 2-for-4, R, 3 RBI
Duncan: 2-for-3, 2 R, RBI
Molina: 1-for-5, 2 RBI
Ankiel: 1-for-1, 2-R HR (8)
Barton: 1-for-1

Current record: 28-21

Cardinals won their 3rd straight tonight, 4-0 over the Dodgers. Lohse had a solid outing, so this thread won't hear from VKB this week... or at least not until Lohse has another bad outing.

Chris Perez continues to impress, as he struck out the side in the 9th inning.

Lohse (W, 4-2): 6 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 5 K

Duncan: 1-for-3, R, RBI
Pujols: 1-for-4, R, RBI
Ankiel: 1-for-3, 2 RBI
Kennedy: 1-for-1, R, BB

Current record: 30-21

Next game: @ Dodgers (25-23) today at 3:10 PM CST (TV: KSDK 5)

Todd Wellemeyer (5-1, 3.25) vs. Clayton Kershaw (0-0, 0.00)

Cards drop the finale to the Dodgers 4-3 in 10 innings. Not much offense today. Wellemeyer wasn't terrible, he just didn't have the run support.

Wellemeyer (ND): 6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 4 K

Barton: 1-for-3, 2 R
Pujols: 2-for-5, RBI
Ludwick: RBI
LaRue: 1-for-3
Izturis: 1-for-3, R
Ryan: 1-for-2
Miles: 1-for-1, RBI

Current record: 30-22

bad start for the Cards and Looper tonight, gave up 4 runs in the 1st... glad to see Barton get his first HR

Barton's HR and Pujols were the ONLY bright spots in tonight's blowout loss. Pujols went 4-for-4 with a Solo HR (12).

Looper was terrible. I'm not surprised. This is exactly what he did last season... terribly inconsistent. A couple good starts... then a horrible start.

Current record: 30-23

Cards beat the Astros 6-1 tonight. I was at work and didn't see the game, but it looks as though Wainwright dominated. Cardinals used some small-ball to get their 6 runs.

Wainwright (W, 5-2): 8 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 8 K

Ryan: 2-for-4, R
Ludwick: 1-for-3, R, RBI
Molina: 2-for-4, R, 2 RBI
Barton: 2-for-3, R
Izturis: 1-for-4, 2 RBI

Current record: 31-23

wow 1 day after his best game in a lonnng time Duncan gets demoted

yesterdays headline: Clutch Duncan lifts Cards past Astros
todays: Cards demote Duncan, bring up Mather

headed to the ballpark.... lets go Cards :clapping:

Mather made an awesome catch and had an RBI in his debut... Pujols hit a jack... we left after the 8th and the Pirates almost came back in the 9th... too little too late

Should be interesting watching Parisi pitch tonight. It's a lot of fun seeing all of these young players on the team - been a while since our lineup hasn't been full of veterans.

Good to see that there are some fellow Cardinals fans on the board!

well so much Parisi as a starter!!! back to the bullpen buddy, that was ugly... things would be a lot better if Mulder was back but I dont think thats gonna happen.. thank goodness for wellenmeyer

maybe i should just go to all the games... were 6-0 with me in attendance :shades:
