Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I can't watch the Cardinals anymore. They pissed away the division lead and look like they don't want to make the playoffs anymore.

With today's win, the Cards improved to 4-20 against teams with a losing record since they were last in first place. Not an exaggeration.

Does TLR come back? How many of you want him back? I'm torn.

Also - seems as if the Birds are going to look at making a big trade this offseason.....

Like to see Tony back in the dugout, but honestly more concerned with upgrading the lineup to more than just Pujols, Holliday, and a streaky Rasmus.

Didn't Pujols have some strong words about the Rasmus situation? I don't remember the entire deal, but it seems I remember him commenting on it as well.

Yeah. Basically he said that the team was in a race and that Rasmus should be focusing on that. He said it about the time I quit caring this year, so I don't remember exactly what was said and don't care enough to google it.

Maybe they'll do what they did with Ludwick and trade Rasmus for an average at best pitcher and stick some hack from the minors who had maybe one good month in the majors in the outfield everyday.

...and I get why Rasmus was upset with his lack of playing time. He was easily their third best hitter all year but he was basically platooned/benched against leftys.

It's official, TLR is back for year 16.

So is the entire staff excpet for bullpen coach Marty Mason.

Your newest Cardinal? Lance Berkman. 1 year, 8 million. I was shocked he was just 34. I thought he was in the 36-38 range.

Holliday has said he'll move the right so Berkman can play left. I hope Rasmus is ready to play the middle 2/3 of the field even though Berkman's bat* will be a nice addition to the lineup.

Not going to lie, it will be as weird cheering for him as it was Will Clark though.

*-if he gets back to pre-2010 form.
